7,9:On the nose, the first impression we get is a syrupy sugarcane and a lot of sulphur that covers other notes for a while. On aeration, the rum opens up with spicy wood-vanilla, pepper and anise, fruity notes like apple, peach, grape.The sugarcane is vegetal with flowery and minty touch, some tobacco. Certainly, the wood is cedar, becomes more roasted with nuts, chocolate.More resting brings out brine, yeast and citrus. 8,3:On the palate, the attack is typical agricole with juicy, caramelized sugarcane, honey, tea, there is quite spicy pepper, the fruits are pear, apple, some raisins, later peaches.The cedar wood is roasted with nuts and chocolate, a bit smoky.The sugarcane soon becomes herbal and flowery, minty.Some sulphur could be notice here also, as salt.Well, tasty and pretty balanced... 8,2:The finish is long with agricole notes, sulphur and salt still present, otherwise tasty with roasted cedar wood notes and juicy, mineral sugarcane, dried fruits, apple touch, vegetal notes are flowery, some tobacco and tea perhaps grass

After a little time to breathe, it opens up considerably and then really starts to be fun. Already a bright, fruity profile. Only the alcohol could be a little better integrated. Nevertheless, I am positively surprised by the mediocre ratings.

As expected from the score, no real highlight... but not that bad either. Stone fruit and apple with anise, vanilla and vegetal notes as well as some wood and tobacco. A bit too alcoholic and rather nothing you'd need a bottle of (even if the bottle itself is quite nice).

This rum was spectacular in the way that the nose was significantly different from the palate. The nose is light and elegant with tropical fruits, grass and some vanilla. The palate on the other hand is fruity with a warm touch and a lightly smoky wood flavour. The finish is fruity with chocolate and a very light pinch of barrel. Price to quality is very good.

Not bad, but a rum too expression- and profile-less. Could probably have used a few more years of storage - especially in the mouth, the alcohol still stands out noticeably even after some time in the air, the rest of the bouquet is pleasing, but too interchangeable. A pleasing drop, not a highlight. There are more interesting from Chamarel, although at least so far primarily rums of comparatively younger age (and also rather rarely in barrel strength) are bottled there.

Very light rum. Many light and green fruits, slightly grassy with young wood. Hmm, unfortunately it doesn't give much more. Strangely reminds me a bit of the LMDW releases of the Thai rums from Chalong Bay.

This is a rum with durian fruit notes. Rather than sipping it alone, it seems good to use as a base for dessert rums. But except for the unusual durian or ammonia smell, the alcohol is well integrated and notes of oak, leather, etc. are well balanced and drinkable. If I had to pick, it feels like a South African or Savanna style with low maturation, finished with a cask including durian aroma. Not bad but buying a bottle would be a stretch.

For me, the best rum from Mauritius so far, but still with room for improvement. While the planty aromas dominate the nose, the palate shows a colorful mixture of caramel, fruit and notes of young wood. There is an alcoholic note (Cognac or Williams pear), which suggests that a little more time in the barrel would have done this rum quite well. In my opinion, good and with typical Agricole notes (although not a "real" Agricole), but not good enough for the price.Edit: Nose >> Palate

A nose of mirabelle plum where I find the alcohol very present. In the mouth I find the alcohol too present and not well enough integrated. I'll try to leave it aired for a while to see if it needs it.

Relatively fruity and spicy on the nose with green apple and allspice and a bit of alcoholic sharpness, mainly dry, woody and sharp-edged alcoholic and unbalanced on the palate. Also some anise, apple and licorice and salty bitter... overall it reminds me of Calvados, I don't like it that much and it's simply too young and also too expensive in my opinion.

A fairly lively rum, with a rather dry profile. The alcohol didn't seem well integrated to me, both on the nose and on the palate. A bit of fruit and spices, smooth woodiness. Finish rather short and dry. Not bad but not crazy either.

On the nose immediately rises the smell of vanilla, accompanied by a note of cognac, further develops mirabelle and a hint of anise.On the palate, young wood dominates at first, the rum spreads warm and slightly bitter.... there is some anise and pepper.The finish remains the young wood and earthy grass!A good rum, but not very complex.

Something completely new. Beautiful aroma, the taste doesn't really work for me. The most specific aroma among rums I've probably had. Taste is better than a year ago (raising from 62 to 65).

On the nose, mirabelle plum, Williams pear, a cognac side, very much agricole rum. On the second nose almost a calvados, it evolves quite a bit. On the palate, rather tropical fruits with caramel, a salty side, a bit of vanilla and wood. It really feels like an agricole but with more intensity on the palate. Decent finish. This rum surprises me, I expected nothing, yet it is very well made. The alcohol is present but not disturbing. I would have rather given it 7 to 8 years. Beautiful product.

Very fruity, white peach with light fresh and powerful citrus. Alcohol moderately integrated for me. Overall good. I reevaluate my rating to 8 because once opened it develops very pronounced and atypical fruity aromas. I like it a lot.
