16.09.2025 Retasting and it's still pretty good. ------------------ 07.05.2019 Enjoying some samples at home. Colour Light in colour. Nose Fresh, light funk, fruity, banana, light raisin, light floral, spice, light roasted. Palate Light, round, faint wood, fruity, light banana, spice, light ester, light bitter, medium intense, light caramel. Finish Medium to long, round, light roasted, light wood, faint chocolate, light licorice, fruits. Needs to rest in order to really open up.

After week or two, something happened with taste. Now it tastes like really bad moonshine for punishment. First tasting - rating 78. I wonder if it just this bottle or all of them.

Esthers medium on the nose with a pastry side almost cereal, I still do not have this side banana on ripe so typical of Jamaicans. On the palate, the milky smoothness gives way to a licorice bitterness before finishing on fruits. At 50 euros it is a sure value.

8:As you bring the glass to your nose, prepare for an aromatic journey. Powerful scents of creamy soda, fried banana, dried mango and fruit bread greet your senses. White pepper adds a subtle but invigorating kick. With each nosing, the complexity deepens, unveiling notes of raw sugar, hay, hints of white chocolate, and a delightful banana cake essence. 8:The palate experience is a revelation. Despite its robust alcohol content, this rum maintains a remarkable smoothness. It exhibits concentrated flavours, showcasing a gentle bittersweetness at midpalate. Revel in the rich taste of banana peel, fruit loaf and a sprinkling of white pepper, some vanilla. A fresh, grassy, herbaceous and pineapple zest, citrus infuse the midpalate, followed by a lingering embrace of warming sweet spices, a pinch of salt. Smokiness is present. 8:Finish is quite long, tropical, ripe fruit, pleasant sweetness. Compagnie des Indes Navy Strength Jamaica Rum is a testament to the art of rum-making. Its complexity is balanced and harmonious, never overwhelming the senses with excessive sweetness. Edit:28.3.25, few cents higher, not bad at all

Beautiful navy strength Jamaican. Great value for money and surprisingly mild for its young age and 57%. Very complex and a nice introduction to the overproof Jamaica world! For me one of the best affordable Navy Jamaica rums.

The price-performance ratio is unbeatable. Here you get a lot of Jamaica for little money

A more interesting nose than the Latino and the Caribbean with more fruit and less sweetness, a side of rum grapes.A mouth with vivacity but a very well integrated alcohol. A light funky and some esters. A finish and an empty glass with a taste of Mezcal.interesting and a good surprise.Tasted again with other Jamaican and still disappointing.

Great blender, but it also knows how to impress on its own. Absolutely great PLV. One of the best I've had in a glass at this price and age. Alcohol very nicely integrated, incredibly mild for 57%. CDI proves that it doesn't always have to be rum for a few hundred euros.

Jamaican with unbeatable price performance. The nose does not quite pick me up, has a little too strong Agricoleanlänge for my taste, but on the palate awaits a beautiful Jamaikablend with a pleasant sweetness, which is also super as an introduction to higher-proof and ester-containing rums.

Smells of fire, very long on the palate, airy. A very interesting and refined rum.

Not bad, but there are so many other better Jamaicans around these days. Today was the last drops of this rum as I need the space for other bottles
Review by Rhum Mirror 🇧🇪
On the nose, there's no doubt that we're in Jamaica, with its ripe bananas and notes of esters aplenty. Other exotic fruits (coconut, etc.), menthol-solvent freshness and vanilla are also present. The nose is rather encouraging. On the palate, the attack is frank and pleasant. Less tropical fruit, more candied fruit and citrus zest. But the funkiness of Jamaica, licorice and a "medicinal" effect are still present. The finish is quite successful. There's still a nice woodiness on the palate, spices and eucalyptus.
Review by Nicofr
A fairly young Jamaican rum with a fruity taste and a lot (perhaps too much) of power. I think that for a Jamaican, the alcohol could have been better integrated, but at this price level it's still a decent rum.

Distilleries Worthy Park + Clarendon, aged 5 years. Similar to Smith&Cross, a bit less tropical but more rounded and better sipper. Smell is really good and spiced, taste is tropical fruits with a lot of spices, finish is rather short with Spices but overall well integrated. Better sipper than Smith & Cross, fine in cocktails but lacking that oomph and funk that we expect from a Jamaican
