Komplex and elegant nose, nicely combining wood, fruits, and some herbal notes. Notes from the barrel aka wood is dominant on the palate. Again, nicely balanced with some herbs and red fruits. Small 1989 Utivlugt cross tasting: Nobilis vs. CorCol vs. CoR vs. Ricci vs. TWJ. On the nose: CoR >>> Ricci > TWJ = Nob > CC With its higher ABV the CoR is playing in a wholly different league - stunning on the nose. CC needs very much time to open up. TWJ with the darkest nose; Most leather and wood forwards. Palate: CoR > Nobilis > CC > TWJ >> Ricci

A great Guyanese.Complex and incredibly drinkable at the same time.On the nose a lot of herbs, some malt, licorice and pencil, although only very light.Very velvety on the palate with perfectly integrated alcohol. The above mix also comes to the fore in the taste. There is still leather to it.In the finish then some chocolate.

#22 RumXCalendar Blind tasting: N: woody, vanilla, prunes, raisin, alcoholic, leather, roastes M: complex, dry, spicy, licorice, oak, roasted, herbal, dried fruits F:dry, smoky, mocha, coffee, oak, vanilla Prediction: classic guyana, approx. 50% and with 20 years + This is a good solid rum! When i saw the output, i was a little dissapointed. This could be a bomb, but for me it‘s a mid 80! The wood isn‘t so dominant but the value for money is bad. Watered down? Nose: alcoholic, woody(oak), vanilla, prunes, raisins, pineapple, mango, peaches, orange, herbal, toffee, clove Mouth: complex, intense, balanced, dry, astringend, woody, licorice, coffee, leather, spicy, dark chocolate, toffee, herbal, roasted, tannins Finish: medium, dry, woody(oak), coffee, mocha, licorice, roasted, vanilla

Beautiful PM. Licorice dominates with pleasant bitterness on the palate.

A lovely old PM. Quite complex, dark and heavy, lots of licorice, dark chocolates. I can taste some wood coming through without being overbearing, a slight dry bitterness as well. Long finish, quite enjoyable!

RumX Adventskalender 2021 Tag 22 Richtig lecker!!

On the nose still relatively restrained, but on the palate develops its potential! Initially, a floral sweetness that passes into a delicate herbaceous note! Then develops the typical woody aroma with a slight licorice note! Very complex, harmonious and balanced! Class Rum At a second tasting (RumX calendar), the rum is much more fruity on the nose, with hints of vanilla! The palate confirms, the finish is medium long and not quite as intense

Finally times a hit in the blind tasting, but I had the rum also already in the glass. Strong woody he is first, but the neat portion of fruit, as was obvious to me Port Mourant.I was received by peach notes, then first a lot of wood. Fruit sweetness is perceptible. On the palate I have then beautiful cherry, a few herbal notes and of course first a lot of wood, which then gives way at some point and coffee and dark chocolate emerge, garnished with a certain spice. Something bitter orange I have discovered after some time in the glass.

Extremely inviting nose and very balanced on the palate. Just the right amount of sweetness and just the right amount of fruitiness, spiciness and wood.

RumX Advent Calendar, 22.12., blind.First impression: now but times... Guyana. Right. Maybe a PM, but only around or just below 50%. And old it must be.Nose: complex, compact, round, beautiful. Woody-spicy-lovely-fruity. Dried tobacco leaves, some pencil shavings and light vinegar. The fruit is not easy to find, blood orange and sloe, a touch of tart kiwi/pineapple. Also toffee and some dusty dry wood floorboard and old library. Light licorice at the back.Palate: dry, salty-bitter and spicy with umami, licorice, but still a bit thin. Toasty and dark it is, with mocha, tobacco, root. A bit metallic-rusty to it. Acidic like watered molasses. Dried plum at the back. Still sufficiently complex.nose 90, palate 80, makes total for me 84.

Today again in the RX calendar as a blind tasting. I'll leave my rating con 84 as it is, as the rum is a little too woody for me.

Day 22 of the RumX Advent calendar: after a delay due to a cold, I was immediately pretty sure that this was Guyana and a nice old one at that. My guess was 25 to 30 years old. And I was convinced that I knew him. And so it was. Very tasty PM Guyana 😋
