Very sweet and fruit schnappsy on the nose. Red wine. Bubblegum. Haribo. Taste: sweet cheap wine. Too much wine. More sweets. Strawberry lemonade. Thin. Not my thing.

Well, I don't really like this rum that much. It tastes too much like wine, or rather port wine with a slight cherry blossom. Not quite to my taste, unfortunately. Certainly very tasty with cola.

To finish the "24 days of rum" calendar, I'm going to do 4-5 samples each day. The nose is heavy with redwine and some caramel. In the notes I almost got a whisky sensation; some yeast flavor, wood and fruits

Perceptible alcohol on the nose, lots of caramel but not a very pleasant caramel smell, more on the industrial side, not a very nice nose. On the palate, it's round and one-dimensional, with an equal emphasis on caramel, a rum that's neither good nor bad, but clearly not my cup of tea.

I always find the combination of rum and ex-red wine barrels exciting because it gives the fruity aromas an extra dimension. This is also the case here: fruity nose with a little yeast, develops pleasantly on the palate and is also simply delicious and round on the finish. I would have given it 7.5 or more with a little less yeast impression.

Very interesting sample, not the most favorite one from Naga I must say but that is only because I am not a wine fan and this one is all about wine. It reminds me of sherry sort of due to its sweetness. Medium to long finish. Overall a fine rum but I dont think I need to saviour more than a sample.

C’est loin d’être fou, clairement trop sucré, mais on sent le côté tannique du St Emilion, ce n’est pas mauvais duller se boit facilement. Pas mon style mais comme je l’ai lu ailleurs, il y a tellement pire!

Sample no.15 of the 24 days of rum calendar 2023. The red wine barrels really comes through on the nose and palate. Hard to tell anything else since the wine is so dominating, this could almost be mistaken for a strong dessert wine if it was a bit more sweet and a bit less ABV.

Read full review →Rád ochutnávám rumy z různých (třeba i netradičních) zemí s různými procesy výroby. Někdy je ten rozdíl zanedbatelný, ale někdy (jako i u tohoto rumu) opravdu poznáte, že je něco jinak. Pro mě má skutečně velmi nezvyklý profil (vůně i chuti).
