Barikenn South Pacific Fiji FPBP 2012
Overripe banana, mineral edge and a whiff of glue and rubber — this is a young, cask-strength Fiji from South Pacific, bottled by Barikenn. Tropical fruit and ginger pepper carry the palate, with light wood behind. The alcohol runs hot and a little raw; a couple of tasters even parked the bottle for a year to let it settle. Interesting, slightly rough around the edges.

Nose Fresh, medium intense, fruity, banana, overripe, spice, light wood, light glue, faint rubber, light honey. Palate Oily, warm,spicy, light wood, faint smoke, ginger, banana, overripe, light glue, light rubber, faint mineral, light herbs. Finish Short to medium, light wood, light ginger, spicy, banana, light herbs. Empty glass Herbs, banana faint honey, ginger, light glue. Don't leave for too long in the glass or it will die.

So far the weakest Fiji in my tasting round ... here fits so right nothing together! In the nose to finish accompanies me something artificial ... which bothers me but can not be defined exactly, the Barikenn and I will not be friends

Nose typical Fiji. Overripe banana, mineral to herbal. Slightly peppery. On the palate, first sweet, honey, then alcohol. The mineral follows again. Quite tasty.

Der unausgereifteste Fiji im Tasting. Wirkt durchaus kantig. Insgesamt aber interessantes Geschmacks Profil. Wirkt mineralisch und leicht künstlich. Spannend. Hatte ich besser in Erinnerung. Aber vielleicht auch Tagesform.

After some standing time, tropical fruits like mango, papaya and banana come through along with wood and spices. Alcohol very present.

Rather well done. On the fruit. I had trouble at first, even after several glasses, so I left it for a year at the back of the cupboard. And I have to say that what I'm drinking today has nothing to do with it. The "alcohol" aspect is much better, it's smoother and more pleasant to drink. It's not the best fiji, but frankly it's not bad at all. A fine product
