1731 Fine & Rare Grays Mauritius
Sip it neat and the mint hits first — several tasters reach for "iced tea peach" with menthol, then citrus marmalade, gentle spice and a light woody touch from the acacia and port finish. The 46% feels velvety rather than hot. One reviewer calls it a high-end Lazy Dodo. Fresh, fruity and easygoing, with a finish that's medium at most.

On the 👃 - as often mentioned - iced tea peach with mint. On the palate, the mint is more in the foreground for me and the peach notes only come through discreetly. All in all, a delicious, relaxed Grays with a great PLV!

outstanding Mauritius rum. quasi the high-end version of the Lazy Dodo, with significantly more mint, menthol, grapefruit peel, allspice and some currant that go hand in hand in taste and nose. the acacia wood adds a nice spice and not too much woodiness and the port wine finish makes everything very very creamy, palatable and round. i will buy it for sure! great price performance and for me a new reference rum from Mauritius with an incredibly good PLV.

Mega surprised, not expecting much but a blatant explosion of flavor on the palate, the mint comes as a complete surprise. Really good value for money. Absolute recommendation

We also bought it at the spirits market in Thessaloniki. Definitely very fresh and floral on the nose, the mint is unmistakable. There's also a lot of mint on the palate and some wood/barrel can be detected.

Exciting rum with a top price-performance ratio. It tastes of cola nut, fruit and spices. The alcohol is not so well integrated, but at 46% this is not particularly disturbing. Despite the dilution, the rum is intense.

This is simply an awesome profile! I've never been disappointed by these minty Greys bottlings. Minty on the nose, like a mojito, with a peachy sweetness and some acidity. On the palate, I find it less intense than most people seem to, so a second tasting is probably needed. First impression: tasty, but not the aroma bomb I was hoping for. However, I like the finish again very much, long and dominated by mint and woody tannins, which are not too strong.

Price to quality is very good on this bottle. Leave to rest before you give it a go! The nose is fresh and fruity with caramel and vanilla. Even more clear in the empty glass after a while. The palate is fruity with spices, mint, herbal and floral notes as well as light wood. The finish is medium long with spices, orange and again a light wooden touch.

The herbaceous agricole notes of this rum have a distinct minty tang, which is particularly noticeable in the finish. While I'm not usually a big Agricole fan, I quite like this. Peach is also noticeable.

New tasting! Fresher and frankly worth the effort, Superb fruit, lots of menthol and a little spice and wood. It does the job very, very, very well for this price. Thank you pirogue!

3in really great value for money. Nice long finish for little money. I always find a slight sour cherry flavor in both the smell and the taste of the product

The taste in the mouth it is powerful and balanced, with aromas of sweet and slightly woody spices. Elegant with a long dry finish.

A very positive surprise, didn't have too high expectations. A very fresh, minty and fruity rum that still has a lot of aromas despite being diluted, great 👍🏻

Lipton iced tea with a shot. Very pleasant sweetness of peach. Very tasty.

Schöner komplexer Rum in guter Trinkstärke der ordentlich Menthol, Minze und Frucht mitbringt. Hinten noch schön Zitrusmarmelade. Echt lecker und frisch 😋

Good price/performance ratio, fresh non-sweet rum.

Frais et fruité avec un bel équilibre et une certaine élégance. Tout ça à 40€... Il me fait penser à un TDL.

All about the finish for me. Pleasant rum, not too complicated, interesing notes from the acacia finish. Good value / quality ratio.
Review by Rum man
Not a ton of experience with Mauritius so this seemed a good gateway rum. And I am pleasantly suprised by the complexity and variety of flavour that this low ABV dram packs. Even though I do not get that peachy note at all that most others seem to get. This is a nice and minty (yet controlled) sipper.
Review by X-Savior
On The Rocks: On the nose it has strong fruit and alcohol aroma with mild oak and spice. Taste reveals an immediate burn and alcohol building into a more fruity taste with a slight sweetness. Finish is medium with the sweetness fading into a slight bitterness. Mixed Pepsi Zero: On the nose it has a mild sweetness and Pepsi zero aroma. Taste has a mild dusty and a slight fruit undertone. Finish is short with the sweet fruit fading away. This is not bad mixed and is still enjoyable.
