Aroma visualization from community tastings
Barikenn Mauritius MCPA 2013
Several tasters land in the same place: fresh and fruity up front, gently spiced, "easy drinking" but a little short on depth. The nose leans toward crisp green apple and sour-apple candy, then it turns spicier on the palate — cinnamon, dark chocolate, a touch of burnt wood, all in a cane-juice agricole register. At 53.6% the alcohol sits well integrated.

How does Barikenn Mauritius MCPA 2013 taste?
Aggregated from 20 community reviews.
Fruity, spiced agricole that's easy but simple Well-liked as a fruity, spiced everyday sipper with tidy alcohol integration. The recurring catch: it's a bit simple, missing the depth and complexity to keep enthusiasts hooked.

The first impression on the nose is one of great freshness. Scents of apple, granny, a touch of pommeau too, tart apple candy at times. There's also a hint of gingerbread and chocolate, all in an agricultural vein. On the palate, it lacks a little complexity, but it's very good. It's also spicier. An easy-drinking rum to which I've been returning with pleasure for some time now. Well done to Barikenn for the cask selection, the work and the price 😃

Nose definitely on the fruit with a very pleasant roundness. On the palate, a woody dimension is added. A nice length in mouth carried by the cane, the liquorice and the dark chocolate. The alcohol is well integrated. For the price, it is an excellent bottle!

Typical rhum from the "waterfall distillery". 😉 Pleasant, sweet nose, slightly softer on the palate, but still drinkable, alcohol quite well integrated. Appears older. However, a normal Chamarel XO is unlikely to be any worse ...

Für Gewürzfreunde! Wuchtig und echt lecker, geht er mit ein paar Tröpfchen Wasser richtig auf und liefert noch die richtige Fruchtmenge ab, um nicht zu einseitig das pikante Aromenspektrum abzudecken.

Superb, fruity with a nice spicy note. Complex but not too much. Notes of burnt wood and bourbon barrel marking. Good length.

Tastes close to an agricultural productIt's not a bad integration, though.
