A nose on very ripe fruits and esters (for a change!). The originality comes from the menthol and the plum that I had never met at Hampden. The mouth is on tropical fruits and vanilla. It is oily and caramelized. This mouthfeel is sweet and greedy. The finish is rather short on tropical fruits and butterscotch. A good rum. The alcohol is not very well integrated in the nose. It is very greedy. The best of the trilogy for my taste.

For me this release are between two others from trilogy. Less intense than H, but still very good.

Very nice bitter caramel, peach and nutmeg note, as well as some mint or thyme... Very harmonious. The finish is relatively roasty but still delicious!

It clearly lacks funk in this HLCF ! Too wise and consensual in my opinion... It's good and well integrated in terms of alcohol but nothing extraordinary...Still a good hampden that allows to spend a good moment...

Solid continental Hampden. The big surprise moment is missing, but that should not mean that deficiencies in the flavor profile would be recorded. The rum offers what you can expect from a good Hampden of this maturity - just not much more. So the obligatory overripe tropical fruit notes (pineapple, mango, banana) meet concise, toasty wood and spicy pungency. In the background, I think I detect some fleshy notes of bacon here and there. In addition, an unobtrusive but recognizable sweetness - a passable cross-section of the Jamaica profile and a nice entry into the flavor spectrum of Hampden.

Phew... not even that cool. For me, it's the worst HD 2001 I've tried so far. 79/100 points for me.

This one was a bit disappointing because I had hoped it was the best one. Better balance in the alcohol than the first one, so less time resting before you get the full profile. The nose is fruity with roasted wood, ester, vanilla and a light floral note. The palate is oily fruity with wood, spices, caramel and light solvents. The finish is long with roasted wood, vanilla and mango.
