The Pacto Navio Red Wine Cask needs time in the glass🥃, otherwise the alcohol note dominates. The nose impresses with vanilla, wood, sweetness, and alcohol. On the palate red fruits and some grass appear. The finish is medium and the red wine note comes through. At the end, you notice some bitterness/pencil shavings. This rum needs a lot of time in the glass, then it feels rounder and the red wine note plays well while the alcohol recedes.

Just tried this one in a rum/raisin cake and the final result was yummy. Just drown the raisins in a closed container for 24 hours before using them in the batter.

More interesting than the classic, it goes down quickly and well. In summary, my tasting notes: On the nose: caramelized, cask, nuts. On the palate: vanilla, coconut. The finish rather oriented towards: sweet, coconut, caramel.

Hardly worth giving a detailed review here. Overall pretty artificial and sweet, and despite the low ABV, the alcohol is slightly sharp. Thin in taste and fades away pretty quickly.
