Rhum J.M Terroir Volcanique 2021
People curious about agricole but wary of raw grassy funk tend to click with this one. It's a 3-year Martinique cane-juice rhum: prunes, old oak, sugarcane and vanilla, with peppery spice and a touch of smoke. Several tasters call it "very easy drinking" and more rounded than most agricoles. On the drier, woody side, with a medium finish that lingers on cane.
The community says- Rounded, fruity nose
- Easy for agricole

Surprisingly complex and harmonious for this price range. Fruity, herbal and sweetish tones, which inspire the nose, are enhanced in the mouth by honey, oak and dried fruit. Spice and herbs are present and remain well in the background over the medium-long finish. A very accessible Agricole with unbeatable value for money.

Here the typical agricole aroma already stands out. Only strong for me so that I don't mind it on the contrary. Very nice perfume. Flavour-wise, it's a fruity and again typical agricole. In the finish the agricole flavour leads with nuts. Again, it's only 3 years old like the N.Grove I had a while ago, but it's a completely different rum. I must be in an agricole mood, but I can't help it. This sat nicely with me too. If it was over 50%, it could be a blast. Edit: rounding up slightly, a very good piece

Rancid taste...

Bought this bottle from Wine Palace in Spain and have emptied in Nerja at Costa del Sol. It’s a blend of rum aged for at least 3 years in American oak barrels toasted in two different levels. The nose is sweet, fruity, spicy, woody and floral with scents of honey, prunes, vanilla, oak and leather. At the palate it’s elegant, round, vegetal, fruity, spicy and woody with flavors of grass, passion fruit, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg and oak. The finish is medium long, woody and spicy with flavors of leather, cinnamon and nutmeg.

#4428 Whisky & Rom Festival 2023 28.10.2023 Notes. Fresh and fruity with roasted wood. There is also light clove and coffee in the profile.

Very vanilla and woody, quite pleasant. Not a great rum but nice to drink as an aperitif!

Nose: light, sweet and fruity. Canned pineapple with a fine sticky note like bourbons. Palate: Pineapple and honey sweetness up front. Then becomes spicier and intensely fruity. Finish: unfortunately short, but sweet and fruity. Conclusion: dangerously drinkable and very good PLV.

Doesn't quite meet my taste, but is still quite ok. It has a fruity note on the nose and palate, but for me the alcohol is predominant on the palate, which is not really well integrated and makes for a slightly longer finish.

As usual for Agricole, very herbal, here accompanied by sourdough on the nose. Sour on the palate at first, then smoky wood and nuts. I had hoped to finally make friends with Agricole here, but that didn't happen.

Very woody, agricultural nose. I expected it to be less greedy. In the end, it's very nice. Woody and spicy but fruity, sweet and vanilla. Super accessible. Rather nice.

Tasted at the Whisky & Rum festival, 27th of october 2023 at Politikens hus. Interesting to try agricole where the sugarcane is from a kind of different soil. I found it a bit earthy in the nose and got notes of spicyness with hints of cane juice

Fine aroma, I like the nose a little better than the palate, nice everyday sipper

Barrel weighted agricole with some vegetal nose. Simply not interesting enough for me.
Review by Émile Shevek
The nose is woody, toasty, spicy and with some sweet notes. On the palate it is lightly charred and rounded, then comes something sweet, woody, vegetal and finally spicy with some cognac and dried fruit notes. In the empty glass yellow and red fruits.

Excellent quality/price ratio.very long, fruity finish. The bottle and design are superb, and would make an excellent gift.a little young of course, but at 30euros it's more than worth the triple-priced XO agricoles!
Review by Rowald Sweet Empire
Pretty delicate agricole rum. Heavy on the wood and spices, but well balanced. Plums and prunes. Some berries. The finish might lack some punch yet the dry wood spices keep lingering. Not bad for a 32€ bottle. Far from bad at all.

Sample no.13 of the 24 days of rum calendar 2022. Fruity, oak barrels and agricole on the nose. Maybe some sweet fruit like apple maybe? Palate is fruity and vegetal, dry and tastes faint of white wine. Agricole is an aquired taste, so far I’ve not fallen for it but this one tastes better than others I’ve tried.
