Best sipped neat with a few minutes to open up. Fresh from the bottle it's all yellow fruit — peach, mango, "peach iced tea" as one member puts it — then wood, mint and spice move in. Several tasters love that menthol-eucalyptus streak; a couple find the fruit fades on the palate and the oak turns a bit bitter. Cask strength but well-integrated at 53.1%.

Beautiful New Grove rum with a very fruity, balanced nose. On the palate, the fruit pretty much disappears and woody, rusty aromas come to the fore. Very good rum, but without being exceptional.

A bit below new grove single cask average, this one still shows all the usual traits of the Mauritius distillery, woth a darker overall note. I'm addition, I find a really noticeable bitter note that spoils the enjoyment of drinking it.

8,5:On the nose, the opening is very fruity with a mango, an apple, yellow fruits like peaches and medicinal with varnish.Wood with baking spices like cinnamon, some vanilla quickly takes over, as a molasses is minty. On aeration, the wood is roasted with confectionery, toffee, nuts, citrus, passion fruit and red fruits are out, vegetal molasses. 8,5:On the palate, the attack is attractive with yellow fruits and citrus, spicy, roasted, smoky wood with nuts, crunchy confectionery, perhaps pastry, as the molasses is vegetal.After resting the rum, the herbaceous, flowery molasses with tea takes over, there is some menthol, from fruits mango and dried currants, then chocolate fudge. 8,4:The finish is long, dry and tannic, the molasses is grassy and minty, the wood dark and spicy, as fruits still tempting with citrus, peaches and red fruits... Wow, I really like this! 😋😋😋 And that's not just because I got the sample as a gift from @Boletus. Mainly because the rum is so very New Grove - it doesn't get better! So peach, white currants and mint galore. Plus a bit of wood and a perfect, relaxed drinking strength at 53.1%. Oh man, I need a whole bottle of this!

Found by chance in a small restaurant. Very pleasantly surprised! On the nose it seems good but without much surprise either, but on the palate it's very sweet, fruity and very good with spices and a dosage that reminds us that Antho worked on this bottling. It's really very good and goes great before the meal ❤❤🔥🔥Bravo Old Bro.

Well, I really like this rum, but somehow I don't find it fruity. On the nose it is very minty, also slightly spicy. On the palate I can basically only recognize mint, but very tasty.

Grays knows what's up! Another great rum flying a bit under the radar. A bit on the grassy side with young wood, caramel and lots of mint and a tasty fruit basket made of wood, laid with a bed of freshly cut grass. On top many tropical fruits, especially peach.

Rum from the Grays distillery has almost always convinced me so far. So does this very nice single cask bottling, where the scent wonderfully opens fruitily after initial restraint, then on the palate causes a sensation with a mix of sour fruits with tropical hints, lots of mint and spicy spices. On the finish, after an initial fruit burst, the somewhat bitter oak takes over with mint, leather and spices before ending subtly grassy.

It's not a particularly complex rum, but I just love this great peach (iced tea) note, which comes out wonderfully here again. Also a slight mint note and some spices. It also brings quite a bit of sweetness, but here that fits exceptionally well.

This rum was maybe 30 minutes in the glass before the actual tasting. On the nose: Very fruity on the nose fresh from the bottle, but pretty soon the palate gets woody and spicy, barrel influence is quite obvious. After sitting in the glass you get more minty notes and some herbs. Woody, minty, vanilla, spices. Some yellow fruits under those notes and confection notes that give little sweetness in there. Taste: Woody, minty, spices. Mouthfeel is little bit charred. Little bit of fruit notes, like peaches. Barrel influence is strong on this one. Abv integration is quite good. Finish: Woody, minty, light citrus notes. Light leather notes. Dry. Medium finish. I would say that its good rum, but its nothing exceptional since the fruity notes were left to the background on this one.

#6177 02.01.2026 Relaxing with a few samples after my first workday at my new employer. Nose Medium intense, wood, floral, berries, light orange, light mint, faint coffee, light caramel. Palate Oily, medium intense, wood, fruity, citrus, peach, light nutts, mint, berries, light floral, medium dry, light caramel. Finish Long and warm, medium dry, wood, orange, light floral, light mint, light medicinal. Empty glass Light medicinal, berries, mint, cinnamon, light caramel, light apple.

A rum from Mauritius that incites to travel. The nose is strongly marked by tropical fruits (mango, passion fruit) which embalm the nose, followed by notes of solvents, vanilla wood and menthol. The mouth pours directly a basket of fruits (peaches in particular), followed by chilli and brandy notes. The finish is however rather short and reminds the same tones. Unfortunately, the rum loses aroma after aeration, so that the nose is much less expressive, more pastry but less aromatic. A pleasant rum, which has a good potential and which proposes something different.

A pretty nice rum. The nose takes time to open up then offers beautiful tropical fruits. The palate is pleasant, quite classic. The finish is original with menthol and peach.

Surprising aromatic power: fruits and more fruits! The nose is captivating, on yellow fruits (especially peach). The attack on the palate is frank and warm, still on yellow fruits, sugar and citrus. Presence of a slight woodiness in the aftertaste. The length is correct and pleasant! Very good rum, surprising.
