Fine Spirits South Pacific Rum of the World 2014
Varnish, tropical fruit and smoke on the nose — a proper Fijian pot-still signature. Then the palate turns woody and bitter, and that bitterness is what most tasters keep flagging, along with alcohol that never quite settles in at 50%. One member reckons it drinks like the spirit aged too fast in a too-fresh cask. The Fijian esters are in there; the balance isn't.

How does Fine Spirits South Pacific Rum of the World 2014 taste?
Aggregated from 11 community reviews.
Bitter, hot Fijian pot-still, better in a mixer A middling Fiji that shows its potential but trips on harsh bitterness and hot, poorly integrated alcohol. Several members landed on it as more of a mixer than a sipper.

Sehr Säurelastig, sehr trocken, wenig Süße, Alkohol nicht gut eingebunden
Review by Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰
This one was a disappointment but you can't always win the lottery. Probably best in a mixer. The nose is intense with fruit, varnish and smoke. The palate is fruity with smoky wood and light vanilla. The finish is long with smoky wood and vanilla. Overall I'd say a pretty unbalanced rum for sipping.

This really seems like a bad apple of the 2014 stock. It is excessively bitter and only hints to the greatness of its tcrl sister...
