Very acidic, very dry, little sweetness, alcohol not well integrated

This one was a disappointment but you can't always win the lottery. Probably best in a mixer. The nose is intense with fruit, varnish and smoke. The palate is fruity with smoky wood and light vanilla. The finish is long with smoky wood and vanilla. Overall I'd say a pretty unbalanced rum for sipping.

In der Nase Fidschi, Frucht gepaart mit Lack und Alkohol. Im Mund dann holzig eher bitter etwas rauchig aber das war es dann fast auch schon. Nicht schlecht aber eher enttäuschender Fidschi.

Surprising nose for a rum from Fiji. Esters, varnish, tropical fruits. Then glue and a slightly bitter smell. This bitterness is confirmed on the palate. Probably the wood, but as if the rum had aged too quickly in a barrel that was too new. Very present alcohol. A shame because behind these too present elements there is a typical Fijian profile with sweet esters.

Nice product for its price with a quite pleasant nose but on the palate the alcohol is really badly integrated and bitterness way too intense.
