Kurzurlaub auf Föhr und ein paar Rums im Gepäck 😎 Hier also ein Foursquare, der nach 8 Jahren auf Barbados noch während der Segelreise nach Europa in einem Sherry-Fass lag. Das kommt auch tatsächlich durch. Nase: der hohe ABV lässt ihm zu Beginn ordentlich in die Nase schneiden. Dann haben wie aber die typischen Foursquare-Aromen. Kokos, Banane, Vanille und Kakao. Eiche und eine feine rauchige Note, die vom Sherry herrührt. Fruchtig-würzig und leicht Sherry, würde ich zusammenfassen. Gefällig, aber etwas zu scharf. 8,0 Gaumen: fast 66%. Die machen sich bemerkbar. Ordentlich warm und alkoholisch kräftig, ohne unangenehm zu sein. Wenn sich der Gaumen daran gewöhnt hat, was etwas dauert, dann kommen nussig-würzige Aromen, Pekannuss mit Kakao, eine leicht metallische Bitter-Note gepaart mit der Süße von verbranntem Zucker und Kokosnuss. Im Abgang macht sich das Sherry Fass bemerkbar. Wäre der Alkohol besser eingebunden und der Sherry-Einfluss nicht so intensiv, könnte ich mehr Punkte vergeben. 7,8

Unfortunately, a bit too "fiery" on the palate. The rest are many classic flavors from the Seale'schen Rumschmiede, although here quite one or two unexpected nuances come. In the overall view, however, the spiciness on the palate remains too dominant for a real highlight from the house of Foursquare.
