Sip it neat and you get a lovely nose — tropical fruit, chocolate, raisin and oak — that the palate can't quite match. Several tasters find it watered-down at 43.6%, a bit thin and on the sweet side, with a short dry finish. Easy and round, but don't expect a punchy navy rum despite the name.

Retasting at the German Rum Fest 2023 and I still like the price to quality. ----- For a navy rum and though it is kind of heavy on the nose and palate I'd say its too smooth for a navy rum. Not that it's bad, it's a pretty good rum at the price tag. Fruity and woody with chocolate all the way and a good beginner rum in the navy style department. Price to quality is very good.

There are many navy rums. Many bad ones, few good ones. I would put this one in the middle of the field. It doesn't seem quite round, with a strong note of dried fruit on the nose, especially raisins and fermented grapes. A little watered down on the palate and somehow I have associations with a finish. Easy sipper, possibly something for newcomers (perhaps with a whisly background), but it doesn't really pick me up.

A good blend where the red wine cask fits harmoniously, but it suffers from low alcohol strength without completely hiding the alcohol presence. This makes it feel a bit thin in the mouth, which is compensated by the variety of flavors. The short and dry finish noticeably lacks substance, which leads to taking the next sip of this easy-drinking rum even faster.

Very well rounded blend. Amazing nose with a nice basket of fruits and some spices. Taste however cannot live up to that. Somewhat watered down feel and not enough overall punch for a navy rum.

A good balanced Navy Rum of the milder kind and unfortunately that's where it lacks intensity. There's nothing to fault about this rum, it could just have a bit more of everything... that's what happens when you usually drink Thai chilis, uh barrel proofs.

Nice blend whose Guyana base brings the characteristic spice and heaviness. Pleasant to sip, almost a bit on the sweet side. For what it aims to be, definitely a very decent rum, although it lacks a bit of punch.

Successful Navy Blend, appealing on the nose, but on the palate it seems a bit watery to me. Navy rum should also be bottled at navy strength / FP for me to really enjoy the different components.

A nice low ABV blend. The nose is pleasant and easy going. But not boring either. On the palate clearly diluted and very sweet. That's not so great. Then towards the end increasingly dry with a lot of barrel influence and a nice menthol-mint note in the finish. Overall too much watered down. Otherwise actually quite nice. Nice entry-level rum and perfect for guests who are not yet so deep into the subject.
