One of the best Hampden bottled by the India Company that I have tasted!

A great hampden with all these markers without being too strong

Second tasting: a trace of smoke or bacon is added. I correct my rating by -4 points, because I have since learned other and better bottlings. So the relation is right again. A typical representative but with turbo booster. Compared with the standard bottlings of Hampden both in the nose and on the tongue much more intense and differentiated. The rum stays on the tongue forever. I would not be surprised if I can still taste it tomorrow morning!

On Christmas Eve 2022 together with the 44% and the 60% variant in direct comparison. Heavier and less fruity than the 44% variant. Very similar to the 60% variant You have to know what you're getting into with this one. Very intense, heavy and abrupt...a massive DOK indeed. For me, this vintage is a very special, because it is clearly different in profile from the younger ones and has a lot more to offer in terms of fruit and complexity.

On the nose interestingly here rather olive brine, perry and grape jelly, overripe fermented pineapple and almond pastry. The whole thing is then repeated quite similar taste only that the olive brine (black kalamata olives) together with custard and milk chocolate and overripe pineapple and banana in the interplay. Delicious but not quite as drinkable as the 60% and not quite as fruity as the 44%! But still a terrific DOK.Here definitely the exception where I taste the reduced alcohol better than the 55% for it beats the 60er everything!😅Really exciting what so different alcohol content make!

Another bottling spoiled by dilution, the taste of olive and brine bothers me a little but it's still a good fruity Rum even if I'm not a fan of continental aging.
Review by DomM
Intense and powerful. Compared to the 12y RumClub 09 DOK, it feels like „not quite there yet“ - a couple of years more aging really pushed the rum forwards.
Review by Zorman 🇩🇰
Most impressive when nosing it. The funk is there, but had expected more in the palate based on the reviews and the fact it’s a DOK. Find it lacking complexity and the finish is too short and dominanted by the alcohol. Will have to give it a try again
