for 35€ the liter an absolute PLV firecracker! makes an absolutely horny corn'n'oil by the way!on the nose comes dark, smoky malt beer and a lot of cola, as well as demerara sugar to the fore and some dark berries, pineapple and burnt wood.taste the alcohol is really surprisingly well integrated and tastes intensely of malt, cola and licorice, as well as esters, red berries and papaya.... then in the finish burnt wood, malt, cardamom and bitter licorice, as well as peach and creme brúlée. very good!

Very nice, woody rum from WP. Good price-quality ratio though lacks complexity. It's profile is dominated by wood and has no fruits or esters that I have anticipated. I need to try this on a cocktail.

This Pot Still rum is a blend of rums that’s consisting of unaged rum as well as rum aged for up to 3 years. Overall it’s a great high esters, funky and well balanced rum with heavy flavors. The nose is fresh and fruity. At palate it’s quite heavy, funky and oaky.

Looking at the price tag you actually get a lot for your money. On the other hand I think this rum will be a favourite among the Tiki drinkers put there or for other mixers. The nose is fruity with burnt caramel, smoky wood and light tea. The palate is sweet and fruity with caramel, roasted wood and light petrol notes. The finish is medium long with roasted wood and caramel. This one has a very dominant caramel from start to finish.

Actually bought as a mix rum, but it is almost too bad for that. A mixture of Esterrum with the typical Worthy Park fruit basket and in addition rather sweet, mildly fruity rum.

Strong enough for cocktails and colored for this beautiful look. This would clarify the intended use. You can drink it neat, but you don't have to. And I also bothered here the licorice note 🤷🏻♂️

Super fruity on the nose; no trace of the wood notes you taste on the palate. Spices, caramel and tropical fruits fit in well. The finish is long and above all woody. Alcohol very dominant. Great value for money, especially as a mixer.

The nose has caramel, cola, tropical fruit, and some wood. The palate evolves from carmalized fruit to a roasted profile with buttery toffee and butterscotch. I feel the finish on the rum is the best part. This rum drinks surprisingly well for 109 proof, and it is well suited for a cocktail as it will hold up.

8,5:The nose fills us with happiness, when we find the beautiful dried banana typical of the Distillery, lots of sour cherry/cherry, some Jamaican funkiness. Like an ultra-tropical whisky, this emblematic banana envelops the spirit, inviting us into a full-bodied indulgence that smells of gunpowder and exoticism. With aeration, the fruit becomes finer, fresher, closer to pear or stewed peaches, plums-punchy.A touch of roasting has crept in. Aromas of coffee, caramel and roasted nuts emerge. 8:The palate doesn't disappoint, with a spicy entry and a texture that carries a lightly woody, almost mineral, charcoal grain-agricole like. It's the charred oak barrel speaking at this point, encouraged by a dark, burnt caramel. At the heart of this caramel are roasted nuts, which themselves cover our copper-tinged dried banana.Just minimum bitterness comes in. 8:The finish is long, lingering on exotic fruits. Extrem dunkle Farbe. Ein schwieriger Rum zum pur genießen, wahrscheinlich bin ich aber auch einfach noch nicht so weit In der Nase starker Fassgeruch, etwas modrig. Für mich persönlich nicht angenehm. Geschmack dann volle Breitseite altes Holz, vielleicht noch vergorene Pflaume oder Rosine?

Probably the best among blackstrap rums. Due to the addition of molasses, that's also the dominant aroma, which stands out great in cocktails. Plus the funk, which comes out better neat.

Surprisingly good wine for the price. Woody, smoky, fruity on the nose - some cherry. Apple and tropical fruit on the palate, but still spicy, just like a WP. Overall a little too alcoholic.

Nose: fruity (mostly banana) and spicy. I get what others mean by cola. Taste: very spicy. You can also taste some fruits. Alcohol is definitely noticeable but that's forgiven, since it's meant to shine primarily in cocktails. I like the nose a lot. Taste-wise it's just okay but that doesn't matter because it's not meant to be drunk neat (although you definitely can drink it neat). In the Jungle Bird it's really tasty. In the Mai Tai with the Smith and Cross (50:50) it's okay. Definitely drinkable but basically I'd prefer other rums for this (even if they're more expensive). If you add the Rum Fire, it becomes a really delicious Mai Tai. If you play with the ratio and use more Worthy Park than the other two, it feels like a completely new drink – very interesting.

Interesting how the color complements the taste (this rum is colored), supports the profile very much. The nose is a mixture of tropical fruits and caramel, the taste continues this, but adds herbal tea notes and something woody. Pleasantly sweet overall, but the alcohol is quite present.

The 54% hits through, fruity nose turns into strong-spicy taste, great natural aroma variety. 04.2024 First impression: spicy, strong Nose: spices, molasses, dried fruits, licorice? Palate: the 54.5% together with dried fruits, molasses, wood and spices make a really strong sip. If you want to explain rum to someone, then with the WP109. Finish: warm, medium length, harmonious Note: I visited Worthy Park Estate, Lluidas Vale in Jamaica in February 2024 – a real recommendation for all rum fans coming to Jamaica. Here you can also see how sugarcane is harvested and loaded and there were 5 rums for tasting (including the 109 and the then brand new WP White Overproof). As you can see in the photo, I also stocked up on WP fanboy items 😉

Good and strong spicy Jamaican, just the way you want it. A little strong on its own in a cocktail, but better for the woody note. The high alcohol content comes through as pleasantly hot and spicy.

A rum that has been recolored and where the alcohol is less well integrated. Esters and glue with fruity notes come through well. But also rather dark and lean. Since it is less well balanced, it's more suitable for cocktails where the sweetness offsets the heaviness.

I didn't expect to like it pure so much. Price/quality is one of the best things I've ever drunk:<€40 for 1L 😯 it looks like the Demera River flows through Jamaica 🤷♂️ Dark WP fruit with Guyana caramel ❤️ It's also undoubtedly going to be an insane mixer!Edit: best rum 'n coke ever, great in a dark 'n stormy but there may be better rums for that.Edit 2: great in rum sour, along with Plantation Stiggins

Tropical banana on the nose and cola. In the mouth, lots of cola at first. Once you get used to it, the tropical fruits come through. The rum becomes rounder if you give it time to breathe, neat quite interesting. But better for long drinks and cocktails than neat.

Sharp. The ABV doesn't hide. Notes of banana, caramel and ginger all swimming in molasses on the nose. Tobacco, caramel and oak on the palate but with a slow building bitterness. The finish has an interesting rhubarb/red fruit note but still the bitterness hangs on. It's not the worst "black" rum I've had, the jamacian elements on the nose save it from that. but I feel this is more for mixing.

Molasses, bubble gum, cola and licorice. A pronounced caramel taste, it's a rum with caramel coloring that gives it this color, not very aged. Okay in cocktails, but not very complex nor very funky I find, I much prefer the OFTD which is much more complex and crafted.

I bought this as a mixing rum and it does that really well. Sipped it’s reasonable. The nose is my least favourite part of the rum, flat, a hint alcoholic and woody. On the mouth it comes to life more with real brown sugar, licorice, and spice. Afterwards a medium finish that tapers off fairly quickly. It won’t be winning any prizes sipped and to my palate it’s not the best with rum and Coke, but a solid higher ABV mixing rum

Pleasant rum with a a very surprising alcoholic taste. The smell is just intoxicating and begs you to try it. The sweetness is strong but the alcoholic taste overwhelms your mouth for quite a while until it settles on a spicy tone and then woody taste. The taste remains on your tongue for quite a while and leaves you wanting for more.

Blind tasted and immediately recognized by the nose 😁 Nose: overripe banana, spiciness and sweetness harmonize well. Mouth: unfortunately not so much banana anymore but more spice and slight bitterness (coffee) Finish: even more bitter notes and the fruitiness recedes further. Rum with excellent price-performance ratio!

Unbelievably awesome 👃. Typical Jamaican fresh, minty notes full of that ester-ish aroma. Taste is very heavy, fullbodied typical Jamaica with notes of roasted sugar. Very nice rum but probably more suitable for 🍸 as it lacks some nuances of a well aged rum.

The first smelling was very woody, but after a moment the fruits came out, followed with faint cola smell. The taste, was not as forgiving with a heavy forward of spice and wood. The long aftertaste slowly brought out the flavors found in the smell.

Darkest rum I own at the time of writing. Shame it doesn't have a cork. Whoa. I was a bit intimidated by this since I find too much of it tends to overpower even a Mai Tai. But it turns out this rum is not only fit to drink neat, it might even be better so than as a mixer! All-consuming spicy notes, baking spice, allspice, licorice and even a whiff of salty olive brine in there as well. Reminds me of some undefined dark, heavy pastry but not sweet. Something adjacent to mocha or dark chocolate but not quite there. Tiny hint of petrol and rubber on the aroma as well. Interesting for sure, complex and amazingly balanced, given that its notes are so powerful. It leaves this unexperienced palate amazed.

Classic worthy park. Deep, fruity, little bit funky. Lod of dark wood, resin, tobacco, polish, leather and some cola ) Palete similar, with some prunes on the aftertaste. Really good rum for this price.
