A particular and initially puzzling Savanna. The nose evokes several things. First, you feel the fruity side on dried fruits (raisin), then yellow fruits (apricot, peach), then apple and cherry (or fig) on a very ripe tone. The spicy side evokes cumin, with a slightly herbaceous tone, before toasted, woody and caramelized notes appear. It belongs to the category of traditional island rums, but it is far from a typical profile. The attack on the palate is dark and lively. The spicy side stands out a lot in the first moments (licorice, ginger, vanilla, pepper) with a good dose of woodiness and smokiness that seem to suffocate the palate. Caramel and dark chocolate give some roundness with the fruits, which are quite varied (dried fruits, red fruits, yellow fruits, all quite ripe). The alcohol is well integrated. The finish is in the same register, sticky, opulent and quite empyreumatic. The fruitiness also stands out to give sweetness. Bitterness is also felt with a hint of molasses and a drier side. An original Savanna that shows the range offered by the distillery.

The nose is not bad... Dark fruits, caramel, cocoa and some licorice... Alcohol barely noticeable. On the palate very similar to the nose but somehow fades very quickly and I miss something special... Finish chocolate and some licorice and good bitterness. The value for money is not right for me here.

30.03.2022 Sampling a bit at home. Notes Dark in colour. Nose Fresh, light wood, faint smoke, light caramel, faint chocolate, light anise, light orange. Palate Oily, light spicy, wood, light roasted, faint chocolate, light caramel, light orange, fruits, light orange. Finish Medium to long, light wood, fruits, light orange, spice, medium spicy, faint chocolate. Extra note. Needs to rest for a good while or the ABV will be overpowering the nice flavours.

Tasting a 3cl sample. 👃 I like this kind of concentrated nose of candied fruits, thick caramel, and cooking spices. It reminds me of the nose of some old Armagnac Baco. I find cooked licorice, lots of melted dark chocolate, very cocoa-heavy and vanilla. The woodiness is very present, dense, toasted but almost candied too. Overripe fruits dominate, dried fruits (raisins, figs), orchard fruits (apricot, apple), citrus (candied lemon, roasted grapefruit) and tropical (mango and papaya). A very slight veil of varnish and pot glue. 😋 Alcohol kick! Then, lots of woody characteristics, dark chocolate, vanilla, spices, salted licorice, ginger, a roasted side. The fruits are present but do not dominate. Mainly citrus, chocolatey orange zest, kumquat, blood orange. Light dried fruits. Big note of thick, viscous, honeyed caramel, also like Catalan cream. Still an aspect of old Armagnac barrel. ⛳ Long, warm, alcohol present but still cozy, spicy, woody. A base of burnt caramel, some dried fruits and zested citrus. 💡 A typical profile, maybe slightly divisive (judging by community notes), but it has strengths. Yes, it's expensive, it's collectible, and it's very good.

As has been mentioned many times, the nose and aroma evoke the full-bodied rums of Savanna complemented by tones of old rums from Guyana. The fruity start gradually transitions into spicy notes of chocolate and licorice. An unusual, yet very interesting piece.

Great aroma that disappointed me. For the price, I think you can do better in general. Yes, alcohol not so well integrated, soapy side not really pleasant and a sharp note. Still a good product though.

Whooo - this one taste like blend of Savanna and Enmore. (3 to 7) I even taste molases! It is definitely not typical and superb Savanna, but I like it! Rumy z destilerie Savanna jsou jedny z mych nejoblibenejsich. Doporucuji kazdemu vyzkouset zejmena vuce esterove kousky jako je Grand arome nebo HERR. Tolik ovoce v nekolika malo kapkach tekutiny jste dlouho necitili.
