Geiler Savanna Chai Humide! Super cremig, butterig, intensiv nach Veilchen, überreifer Erdbeere, frischer knuspriger Pfirsich Crumble & Ananas, Olivenlake, etwas Minze, Grüntee & brioche Gebäck/Croissant. Im Abgang kommt krass viel Veilchen dazu, fast schon parfümiert aber dennoch geil. Pornös lecker & mega komplex und harmonisch! Chai humide ist einfach geil, für mich fast schon spannender wie grand Arome!

Sehr würzig und kraftvoll, mit einer ausgeprägten Holznote, die von Nelke, Pfeffer und Muskat begleitet wird. Dazu treten dunkle Trockenfrüchte, Rosinen und eine Spur Tabak. Im Hintergrund zeigen sich leicht balsamische und mineralische Anklänge, die für Spannung sorgen. Insgesamt komplex, dicht und mit einem langen, trockenen Abgang.

fort dauphin #989: Diese Abfüllung ist etwas für die Sammler. Die Aromensuche gestaltet sich beim Verkosten als äußerst beschwerlich. Kandierte Früchte, etwas Fruchtjoghurt, sehr leicht am Gaumen mit einem kurzen Abgang. Der Alkohol ist trotz der niedrigen abv nicht gut eingebunden. wild island #985: guter fruchtiger Antritt mit etwas Holz und kandierten hellen Früchten. vergorenes Obst in Abgang, ebenso Gebäck und Fruchtjoghurt. tolles mundgefühl und ein schöner mittellanger abgang täuschen nicht über den mit anderen tollen savannas vergleichsweise verhaltener aromenintensität. Große Schlücke machen hier viel Spaß am Genuß und weniger beim Blick auf das Portemonnaie. 84 Pkt wild island #984: schwacher Antritt, vergorenes Obst, deutlich mehr als bei Cask 985, dafür aber auch wesentlich weniger Frucht und Volumen am gaumen. Der Abgang ist auch relativ lang und die absolute Stärke, hier kommt etwas das fass durch. 85 Pkt. wild island #987: ähnlich schwach wie 989. Etwas holziger und bitterer, als die kollegen aus dem tasting. Cognac/armagnac im finish sehr deutlich. Der Abgang ist absolut klasse und hebt den Rum auf ein völlig neues Level. Hätte hier blind vllt. auf einen Agricole getippt. gefällt mir 83 Pkt madras #496: Jawoll! Geiles Teil! Von der Nase, bis zu. Antritt, im Abgang wird er etwas dünn (Meckern auf hohem Niveau). Eine sehr gute Balance zwischen Frucht und Holz, wunderVOLLES Mundgefühl. Klar, der Vergleich zu den Kollegen ist etwas unfair, da wir hier einen gute. Grand Arome haben. I love it! 89 Maputo #988: Mit Assoziationen zu Cask 987, nur wesentlich besser. Alles intensiver und besser abgestimmt. toller Rum! 87-88

Mmhh genau nein Fall. Sehr Fruchtig würzig Blumig in der Nase ein Hauch Menthol/Minze macht ihn leicht Frisch . Am Gaumen Erdbeeren, Mango Papaya Ananas... leicht Pfeffrig etwas Röstaromen und Kakao (dunkle Schokolade) . Gefällt extrem gut.

Beautiful representative of the Grand Arôme world of Savanna with a classic profile, which, however, in direct comparison with the very large Grand Arôme bottlings of the distillery can not quite keep up. Instead, there are even more rough edges here, but they are a little to the detriment of the balance of the individual flavors.

Un Savanna expressif avec beaucoup d’intensité. Le nez se révèle sur des notes de fruits rouges très mûrs (fraise), des fruits jaunes et tropicaux ainsi que des raisins. L’olive est également très présente, avec un côté médicinal et salé. Le boisé, les épices (vanille, cannelle, poivre) et le caramel finalisent les détails d’un profil olfactif très travaillé. L’attaque en bouche est riche et puissante. Les fruits très mûrs sur la fraise, la cerise, l’ananas et la pêche forment le fer de lance du profil au palais. On retrouve l’olive, un boisé toasté, des épices ainsi que des notes de café, de cacao et de caramel avec une trame légèrement médicinale. L’alcool est présent, mais globalement très bien intégré. La finale est longue, sur des notes poivrées assez chaudes et des fruits toujours aussi présents. Le côté fermenté, médicinal et astringent ressort un peu plus, sans être désagréable. Un superbe Savanna, au caractère bien trempé et qui maîtrise son sujet.

Wow, this one was a nice surprise. I do know that Savanna has a relatively high bar on their aged releases, but sometimes you just sit there and really enjoy sipping a rum. Very fruity and fresh with spices and a good balance with the roasted wood notes. I love the floral hint in the profile. Price to quality is very good in my mind.

👃 Une perception de sucrosité fraîche et fruitée se dégage du verre durant toute la dégustation. Le bal s'ouvre sur de magnifiques arômes de cake de Noël aux fruits confits (ananas, papaye, kumquat, mandarine) et aux épices (girofle, cannelle, anis étoilé). Les fruits sont aussi surmûris (kakis, ananas) et confiturés (fraises des bois, abricots). En mettant mon nez au bord du verre, je la trouve, cette fragrance caractéristique de bananes et de fraises tagada 🪅. Les esters sont donc très fruités avant d'être portés sur les solvants et autres vernis à ongles. La gourmandise n'est pas en reste avec quelques notes éparses de nougat, de fudge et de crème pâtissière à la vanille. Finalement, une petite touche de saumure avec ces fameuses olives vertes en bocal. Nez parfait, intense, fruité, complexe et évolutif. - 93/100 😋 Une explosion de saveurs de fruits surmûris dont l'ananas Victoria, la mangue, la papaye et le melon laissé trop longtemps en plein soleil, tout cela accompagné d'épices (poivre vert, baies roses, piment de Madagascar). En rétro olfaction, un côté aigre douce sur la merise et la cerise griotte à la cueillette et un aspect acidulé sur l'orange sanguine, le kumkat et le combawa. Je découvre une note d'olives vertes, plus natures que saumurées, que je trouve moins prononcée que sur d'autres Grands Arômes dégustés auparavant, sans que cela soit un problème. Une jolie bouche intense, riche, qui ne manque pas de raffinement, ou les esters font la part belle aux fruits. - 91/100 ⛳ Longue, qui débute par des cristaux de sucre brun légèrement brûlés combinée à une brunoise d'ananas rôtis. Puis, quelques épices pimentées et poivrées. Enfin, un côté salé et légèrement astringent. - 89/100 Le verre vide reste longtemps expressif sur de l'ananas fermenté et l'astringence du fût. Ce rhum Grand Arôme vieilli en chai humide m'aura fait grande impression, notamment par ses effluves et saveurs fruitées complexes, étagées et élégantes ainsi que par l'excellente intégration de l'alcool, qui frise la perfection. Selon mes goûts, je le place à ce jour juste derrière le GES et le Chronicles.

A superb nose. A mouth less to my taste, too sour and on the red fruits. A medium finish, not very pleasant, spicy and with an olive too present.

from the Collection Metissage tasted the Fort Dauphin, Maputo and Madras: the Madras stands out for me, already because he is the only one of the three as a Grand Arome just clearly more intense, with wonderful red fruits and butter pastry on the nose. With the other two, I got a lot of grape and wood with the Armagnac finish. The Maputo is a bit too alcoholic on the nose for me with its 64.2%, I almost like the Fort Dauphin diluted to 44.8% better. Unfortunately, this does not work equally on the palate. There the Fort Dauphin seems then but rather thin.

Erster Eindruck ist eher Guyana. Sehr komplexer Rum, bei dem starke Kräuternoten dominieren. Ich empfinde den Rum als sehr anstrengend, nichts was sich einfach nebenbei trinken lässt. Adstringierend, man kann den Rum fast kauen.
