I just had to try this one as well and if the dent in my wallet wasn't there after the previous one, it definitely was after this one. I love the old Bally releases because they tned to be really good and this one is no exception. Fruity and naturally sweet with nice wood notes and spices. I really liked the light minty note on the finish. If I can find a bottle at an OK price I will definitely buy it and put it next to my other Bally's from the 70's

On the nose, the bottling shows rich dark fruits, already pointing towards overripe-rotten old Calvados releases, as well as old wood and spices. Similar picture on the palate, great aromatic depth, but noticeable traces of reduction to drinking strength. Thanks to Sven for the opportunity to taste and to Artur for deciphering the vintage - given the label condition, it required a real expert.

My sample comes from a bottle opened for quite some time. I have some doubts that the rum has retained its original characteristics. It is pleasant, but much lighter than I expected. It has a nice fruity side, well-managed wood, and a pleasant finish with mint aromas. Overall, however, it seems to have lost body and strength.
