A little gem, something magical!
Review by Morgan Garet
The 1st nose on orange and precious wood, then the wood becomes waxed with lots of spices mixed with caramel and fruit (without being able to identify them). Very balanced and greedy. On the palate, the attack is stronger than you'd expect from the nose. We find the same markers as on the nose, plus spiciness and citrus. Spices dominate, but without disturbing, quite the contrary. The finish is long and greedy. As always, a great Bielle rum.

It is really good and well done. The mouth offers a very nice greediness (chocolate, caramel, vanilla). A little less fresh than the 2010 tasted just now, it presents on the other hand a better mastered woody taste. To my taste, the perfect Bielle would have been this one with the length of the other one or the other one with the greedy notes of this one: to be continued...

Magnificent, splendid nose of vanilla and caramel with a hint of coconut. On the palate, these aromas are repeated, with a well-integrated woodiness. Spicy finish.

Super, beautiful West Indian agricultural rum! Bielle does not disappoint. Edit: after airing the bottle, a magnificent nose of flowers, citrus and yellow fruit. The palate is superb, with citrus, caramel and pepper. What a bottle!

I love rums from Bielle because you always know that they're good and the price matches what you get. What I found in this one, that adding water actually throws it off balance, so try to only rest it instead. The nose is oaky with fruits, sugarcane and spices with a hint of mint and chocolate. The palate is oily and oaky with fruit and a lovely mix of spices trailed by light mint. The finish is long and oaky with dried fruit and a bunch of spices.

Connecting rod requires a lot of ventilation, but what a blast! My best experience to date with them!

Bottle finished this evening. The Sauternes finish is discreet and successful. I find it supports the fruity side and attenuates the bitterness on the finish. I preferred it with a tiny drop of water.

These Brut de fut are an amazing way to learn about Bielle distillery in Marie-Galante. The rums are great for they price tag. I remember the 2007 vintage, what a rum. I was then in a different path in my rum journey. Just coming out from the Zacapas, Plantation 20th and Diplos of this rumworld. I was discovering Foursquare, Habitation Velier Jamaicans and this kind of Rhum Agricole. Bielle don’t follow the same rules as the-so-called real agricoles, that’s maybe the reason why I liked it so much. Bielle suits rum geeks that like molasses 😊. Nose: Peaches, lots of peaches. Especially dried. It reminds me of the 2007 vintage. Sweet aromas of xxx tbc…

Very good rum from bielle. A very good taste of citrus fruits on pepper with a wood passing on wood! It's really good! Can't wait to taste the releases!

Comparaison de bielle 2014 brut de fût. Elegant and balanced. Very well-integrated alcohol. Rather dark profile on the palate (spicy, woody, chocolate even if a little citrus enhances the whole), which doesn't quite match the fresher, fruitier nose. This is the one I prefer.
Review by Fabrice Rouanet
The nose is unusually aromatic, fruity and honeyed, with a rare delicacy. Spices and wood round off this truly successful balance. The palate is much more assertive, the dry wood and alcohol immediately bringing a different character. Slight wood astringency, dried apricot, blond tobacco and vanilla transport us to a quality aged rum. The finish is long and pleasant.

The nose is very citrusy. The nose is bewitching with a beautiful freshness and spices in pagailles. The note of liquorice specific to Bielle is there but less present than usual. Without forgetting a nice vanilla bean. It is very pastry-like. In the mouth, despite the fact that it is a BDF, it is sweet. The woodiness is present with delicacy. It is fruity and pleasant. We are entitled to a nice vanilla-glue-clove mouth. A nice length on candied fruits closes this pleasant tasting. 2014 had been an exceptional year in terms of cane harvest.
Review by ChristophFFM
Very balanced. The alcohol is very well integrated. It tastes almost mild and surprisingly sweet. Unfortunately, the finish is below average.
