Der Don Pablo Premium Spiced ist ein Vertreter der günstigen Spiced Rums. Mit einem Preis von etwa 15 Euro ist klar, dass man hier keinen tiefgründigen Rum erwarten sollte. Dennoch überzeugt er als unkomplizierter Alltagsrum mit Profil und überraschend angenehmer Trinkbarkeit. Erscheinung Im Glas zeigt sich der Rum in einem kräftigen Bernsteinton mit leicht rötlichem Schimmer. Die Viskosität ist mittel – kein wässriger Eindruck, aber auch keine schwere Textur. Nase In der Nase präsentiert sich Don Pablo gut strukturiert und gefällig. Dominant sind Vanille und Karamell, begleitet von Zimt, Muskat und einem Hauch Orangenschale. Der Alkohol bleibt dezent im Hintergrund, keine störenden Noten oder stechende Schärfe. Die Aromatik ist zwar einfach, aber stimmig – genau das, was man von einem Spiced Rum dieser Preisklasse erwarten darf. Gaumen Am Gaumen bestätigen sich die Eindrücke aus der Nase: Vanille, Karamell und warme Gewürze prägen das Bild. Die Süße ist deutlich, aber noch im Rahmen. Der Rum wirkt rund, weich und angenehm zu trinken. Tiefe und Entwicklung sucht man vergeblich, doch das Zusammenspiel der Aromen ist harmonisch. Wer Spiced Rums mag, bekommt hier einen soliden Vertreter, der nicht künstlich wirkt. Der Alkohol ist gut eingebunden, was für diese Preiskategorie durchaus bemerkenswert ist. Mundgefühl & Abgang Das Mundgefühl ist weich und leicht ölig, ohne Schärfe oder übermäßige Süße. Gerade in Kombination mit einer milden Zigarre zeigt sich Don Pablo von seiner besten Seite – die Vanillenote harmoniert gut mit erdigen Zigarrenaromen. Der Abgang ist kurz bis mittellang. Er hinterlässt warme Noten von Vanille, Zimt und braunem Zucker, klingt aber rasch ab. Kein Tiefgang. Fazit Der Don Pablo Premium Spiced ist kein komplexer Rum, aber für rund 15 Euro erstaunlich gut gemacht.

Am anfang schmeckt er nach Süßstoff Vanille was dann in eine Kakao note übergeht, für 16€ keinen Zacken aus der Krone gebrochen, würde ihn mir aber kein 2tes mal holen
