A beautiful piece. Matured for 20 years, that's quite something! I'm curious... Nose: intense, fruity, woody-spicy, slightly smoky-dirty, wonderfully integrated alcohol and really round and delicious. First the fruity component: Here a lovely sweet and at the same time sour mixture of green apple, gooseberry, red grape and red currant. There is also the freshness of mint. Also has a fine caramel note. Mint together with tobacco and light smoke then also achieve this typical light dirtiness. I like it very much. 8.9 Palate: Pure Trinidad DNA. Intense and powerful, slightly bitter at the very beginning and then the fresh mint fills the mouth. There are also slightly dirty notes of oil, iodine and singed plastic (almost sounds like Caroni 😏). Beautiful tropical fruit flavors emerge at the back, passion fruit and physalis. The mint and this slightly oily note linger wonderfully long on the tongue. Great old TDL, where you don't feel the 59%. 8.9

Hammer Teil. Alkohol sehr gut integriert. 59% sind nicht spührbar. Er hat eine schöne Geschmackstiefe, dreckige trinidadesque Noten. Der Abgang hält sehr lange! Am nächsten Morgen ist der Geschmack noch im Hals. Besonders die Passionsfrucht hält sehr lange an. Tolles Ding!

Ich habe mir von dem Rum nichts erwartet, aber ich war sehr positiv überrascht! Schöner komplexer Rum mit leicht dreckigen Noten, Minze, schönen gelben Früchten, Holznoten.

Heftiger Stoff! Parade Beispiel für die TDLs vor der 2000er wende wie viel caroni hier teils noch mit im Mix war. Verbranntes Gummi, Weihrauch, gebrannter Muscovado Zucker, säuerliche Passionsfrucht, frische Minze und leicht jodig bitter medizinisch. Dreckig, konzentriert und gleichzeitig elegant. Der Abgang ist mir persönlich etwas zu metallisch und unrund, sonst hätte es eine 9+ Bewertung gegeben. PLV bei den Eckdaten absolut top! Sollte man Mal probiert haben!

Un premier nez bizarre, médicamenteux. Mais les fruits tropicaux sont là avec du massepain dans un drôle de mélange un peu salé. En bouche ce côté médicamenteux passe heureusement au second plan. Les fruits tropicaux sont là avec un côté fruit de la passion et du menthol qui rafraîchit bien la fin de bouche et qui persiste en finale bientôt rattrapé par le côté médicamenteux et du bois. Pas un rhum intéressant, mais pas très équilibré non plus. Il faut ajouter qu’ici l’alcool est parfaitement intégré.
