Barely four years old, yet tasters keep saying it drinks like something far older. This cask-strength Martinique agricole leans dark and toasty — heavy oak, spice, cocoa and crème brûlée, with dried fruit and a green agricole edge underneath. One reviewer even caught an unusual whiff of solvent. The 60.9% is well tucked in, though a couple found the wood and alcohol a bit much.

Wow! For me the surprise from the #30daysofrum. Strong Agricole with dried fruits, almond pastry and - unusual for an Agricole - a lot of solvent. And that with 3 years maturity and for a measly 80€.... Megagood!

Fascinatingly complex and surprisingly well-balanced after only three years in the barrel. Still with enough youthful freshness, but at the same time with pleasant barrel influences that take it to a whole new level. A testament to the qualities you can experience with Agricole rums. Great.

Blind tasting: what a nose! To fall in love! Very good and complex play of honey, cocoa, wood, fruit, vanilla and some tobacco. In the mouth spicy and again with lots of dark bitter flavors with wood, cocoa and some fruit. Then the spicy pungency lingers on the finish, with caramel, tobacco and fruit again peeking through with increased intensity. Top!

For a 3-year-old rum, this Clément reveals huge potential. Passion fruit, candied fruits, apricot and raisins, milk chocolate, crème brûlée, nutmeg, burnt sugar, oak and spicy and roasted notes follow one another for a remarkable olfactory experience. A real complexity and indulgence emerge on the nose. On the palate, you have a simply explosive concentrate of aromas, very intense on spices, wood and toasted, roasted and roasted notes. The profile is dark but very indulgent with notes of crème brûlée, toffee, milk chocolate and roasted hazelnuts. The alcohol is extremely well integrated. The finish, warm and a little bitter, still leans towards a dark and dry profile, with a slight agricultural influence of greenery. Here we have a balanced, intense and elegant rum. It's a superb profile, complex and tasty, at an unbeatable quality/price ratio. Hard to do better for a rum of only 3 years.

A nice surprise for a rum just over 3 years old. The aging in toasted barrels surely contributes. Notes of roasting, tobacco, chocolate, but also licorice, eucalyptus. A woody side and some tropical fruits. Excellent value for money!

Really surprising for a Clément. Apparently, it's their first BDF. In any case, it's superb. Beautiful color, on the nose you feel a bit of alcohol, but it's very light. On the palate, however, it's very well integrated. Explosion of flavor. This bottle is top-notch.

Wow, is this really 3 years old?! Of course there is wood, we are at Clement, but I am surprised by all the fruit aromas, cocoa, intense spice notes, fig, red fruits, a certain freshness.. and the well-integrated proof. Top!!

Lots of chocolate notes on the nose mixed with caramel and vanilla notes linked to the wooden cask. After a few months of opening, a new tasting allows me to sense a more oxidative aspect with prune and cinnamon associated with raisins. On the palate it's aggressive at first but be careful, you really have to let it breathe well so that the mouth opens more. Then you find vanilla and burnt caramel notes like a crème brûlée. After opening a few months ago, long aeration is not as necessary. The finish is hard to define but there is a fresh side that remains in the mouth, slightly mentholated, licorice and even bitter cocoa.

My RumRatings review from 5 years ago: The rum benefits on the nose directly from the high alcohol content. For me, typical Clement Agricole notes come through very intensely. Lots of hay with bourbon, smoke and vanilla. Plus some fruit and baking spices. On the palate the rum is again directly intense. Lots of wood comes with bourbon, burnt vanilla and classic Agricole notes. The rum tastes much older than it is. The direct sharp alcohol reveals the age again. With a pleasant sweetness with burnt fruit it goes to the finish, which offers more bitterness and is dry. The Agricole and wood notes are present and last quite long. An intense Agricole that drinks very well. If you like Clement, this is just right. Especially for just under 80 euros a lot of rum. Not super complex, but sufficient. And for 60.9% almost an easy sipper. But with a high flavor depth thanks to the cask strength.

A very beautiful color. On the nose a round and indulgent ensemble. On the palate, the dried grape is very present. We also find coconut. The spices bring pep and character with a note of coffee but especially cocoa at the finish.
