Sipped neat, this cask-strength Belize pours out coconut, milk chocolate and roasted almonds with vanilla and a woody, raisiny backbone. Several tasters call it dense and roasty with a long oaky finish. The recurring gripe: at 61.8% the alcohol isn't fully tucked in, so a few drops of water help. A classic Travellers profile, done well.

First nose on solvent (resulting from alcohol vapors). Then follow scents of freshly grated coconut from its nut, vanilla, roasted oilseeds (walnut, cashew) and still a lively alcohol, almost lemony like Paic lemon dish soap. Swirling it in the glass, I smell a slice of pineapple freshly flambéed in its sugar. Maybe some white-fleshed fruits like mirabelle or white plum. Almost floral in the end. Coming back after tasting, I even find a bitterness on 100% cocoa. It's a complete nose, lively, fresh & fruity and never fails. I like it. 88/100 A lively palate, very lively, with alcohol much less integrated than on the nose, a pity. After all, 61.8%, you have to tame it. Spices, lots of spices (chili, red pepper), fruits on bitterness, then an unpleasant astringency. Lemongrass passes by, as well as a hint of ginger. The palate remains too alcoholic for my taste (a slight reduction to test). 79/100 Finish coats the walls well. Fresh and tart fruits (green pineapple, yellow lemon, kumquat) on the candy 'têtes brûlées'. Lots of spices. A slight very pleasant woodiness appears, even if it comes a bit late. The empty glass reveals a characteristic smell of weaving like an old straw hat that had gathered dust in a corner of a wooden cupboard. 83/100

I picked up this rum inspired by the positive reviews, but was disappointed given the price (96 euros, but I would sell it no more than 40). A good Spanish rum, but just not in my league. Sweet at high proof, no surprises from the aromas other than some coconut notes and a distant back taste of barrel. The alcohol is not well integrated.

The nose is very closed and not much happens on the palate either. Overall very close to the Foursquare profile, but in a stripped-down form in my opinion. Alcohol not perfectly integrated. Edit: Stays the same rating for me. Had clearly better Travellers in the glass recently.

At first impression, I would never have guessed a Traveller from Belize. Less sweet and fruity than my previous tastings. Still very interesting and intense. Roasty aromas and a slightly woody long finish.

Typical Travellers, but also a very good Travellers. I am particularly impressed by the roasted taste, paired with a subtle sweetness and lots of wood. The wood note is even more present in the finish, which goes very well with the delicious coffee and chocolate notes.

The next really delicious top rum. Here too, the nose and palate have an absolutely light chocolate and vanilla aroma and flavor. The alcohol is again barely noticeable. An absolutely recommendable rum.

I already got the bottle as a birthday gift and had a sample of it, which I promptly opened. Wow!!! The smell of coconut rocks. Bourbon influences all the way and alcohol that is super well integrated. I'm in love 😍

Lovely rum and if you can get your hands on it give it a try. The nosw is fruity with wood, vanilla and nuts. There is a hint of iodine once rested. The palate is woody with fruits, vanilla, nuts and chocolate with a hint of tobacco. The finish is medium to long with wood, vanilla and raisin. Leave the empty glass for a few hours and give it another whif :-)

The rum offers a lot of woody spice overall, with nutty and chocolatey aromas noticeable, a bit of coconut. A lot happens on the palate and the finish leaves some bitterness and a hint of menthol. I like it!

Tasted at home with a friend. This is my second Travellers bottle. Again, i am pleasantly surprised by its quality. Alcohol is well integrated, in that sense I disagree with common discourse that alcohol is hot. Nose and taste i agree with thecgeneral tasting notes.

A typical Belize nose, solvents, vanilla, caramel and coconut. On the palate, the same markers with a woody side and a bitter cocoa. The alcohol could be better integrated, actually its only weak point. Decent length. A good Belize, but not the best, maybe deserved 3 to 4 more years in barrel. Good value for money. In conclusion, a good classic representative of Belize.
