Sipped neat, this is a Hampden HLCF that leans more elegant than explosive. Expect a tropical fruit basket — banana, pineapple, ripe ester — with an odd but pleasant salty, bacon-and-pipe-tobacco streak underneath. It runs fairly dry and lightly bitter on the palate. Several tasters note it's less funk-packed than they expected for an HLCF, but well balanced and easy to keep sipping.

Top HLCF Hampden. I like it very much ... Nice tropical fruit nose with good esters and a very slight salty bacon note which is somehow not disturbing. Fruity on the palate but much less funk than expected... quite dry and a bit bitter. Nose top palate rather medium ...

This Jamaican is a pleasant representative of its distillery. A teopic fruit basket spreads out on the palate without becoming particularly astringent. The rum becomes somewhat creamy and sweet towards the finish. Thank you @a.migos

A very pleasant HLCF where the rum immediately landed on the wanted list. Pleasant tropical fruits and esters dominate here from nose to finish. On the palate it gets really interesting with slightly smoky/salty/bacon aromas reminiscent of pipe tobacco.

Yeah, now that’s a really strong Hampden, that’s how it should be. Such a long aging really does it good. We have here overripe tropical fruits banana and pineapple as well as of course esters. Really tasty.

On aeration, molasses is grassy, herbaceous, vegetal, fresh with green peppers, tea, floral, mango is fermented, green pepper, vanilla join, pastry, coppery touch. 8,6:On the palate, the attack is heavy, dry, intense with medicinal notes, slightly metallic, soapy, fruity with fermented, overripe tropical fruits like banana and, red fruits, dairy hints, crisp with smoky roasted wood notes, bacon, pastry, caramelized, espresso hints, spicy with allspice, peppery, as the molasses is sweet with honeycomb, vegetal with briny olive, floral, earthy, 8,5:The finish is medium long, medicinal, slightly chemical, funky, dry&tannic, fruity with tropical fruits like banana and pineapple, mango, molasses is vegetal, grassy with hay, wood brings warm spice like allspice, pastry, biscuits, smokiness, meaty tones.

Wow, what a great bottling. The typical Hampden markers are so clear in the taste, super balanced and the alcohol is, in my opinion, very well integrated. It just made me want more.

It's a beautiful scent. I'd say it's got more esters than HLCF. Very harmonious tropical fruit notes. Literally a perfume. The color indicates that the rum hasn't been aged much in the barrel, but that's okay. Flavor-wise, you can tell this isn't an ester-laden piece, but I don't have a problem with that either.

Finaly I had time to sit and enjoy this sample. Aroma… well it is Jamaica, fruity (banana mostly for me) with a lot of menthol, esters, little bit od wood and I noticed some buttery scent. In taste… well again Jamaica (I absolutely love this one), overripe banana with hint of some sweet/salty combination (salt and chocolate). It is kind of dry but very elegant not to heavy not to weak, it is very well balanced. Finish is little bit spicy, jamaican funky and estery. This is why I love rums from Jamaica, if I have a chance to buy whole bottle I will absolutely buy it. One of the best sample I had.
