Solvent, glue and nail polish on the nose, then overripe mango, litchi and green olive on the palate. One reviewer compared it to Réunion rum. High-ester meets vegetal-salty aromas – an overall quite dry rum despite or precisely because of the expected fruit esters. I like it thanks to its balance and the appealing interplay of tropical fruits, olives, and vegetal notes.

#5679 19.09.2025 Late evening tasting after getting home from dinner out. Nose Medium intense, fresh, faint wood, vanilla, light olive, light smoke, fruity. Palate Medium intense, fruity, fresh, light olive, light salty, light smoke, faint wood, banana, sugarcane, light floral. Finish Long and warm, fruity, faint smoke, naturally sweet, light olive, faint salt, light floral, banana. Empty glass Olive, spice, banana, light chocoalte, light floral.

A great unaged white rum. Very fresh and fruity and very well balanced. The alcohol is very well integrated. Wonderful complexity and variety of aromas. Long finish without any off-notes. I am curious to see how aged rums from this distillery will turn out. Highly recommended.

First time taste the Galion Bay PGI Rum ! Grand Arome have more, then 500 g/hlpa of esters. Let see. Nose: OMG, it's almost like Jamaica. Dominate of solvents, glue, nail polish, chemical aromas, metallic notes & esters. On the background, we have interesting notes of pungent fruits: apples, litchi, prunes, bergamot oil. Some olives, grass, earthy & flowers. Very interesting. Palate: Bright & sour ! Lot of overriped fruits: mango, mirabelle plum, honey, litchi, peach, pears. Still have solvents, esters, glue, polish. But, not so much, like in the aromas. Touch of fresh grass & something like Italian grappa. Aftertaste: long, fresh, sweet. Bee's wild honey, with overriped tropical fruits. Hint of solvents & glue. Conclusion: Wow ! Never seen before, something like this, from Martinique. Absolutely fantastic ! Close to Reunion island style. Highly recommend 🫶

Overall, quite solid galion but not as intense and long-lasting funky as the Finedrams galion. Has rather very green tones of green melon, green grape, unripe pineapple, some parmesan and green olives and just discreetly this salty meaty umami with minimal smoke and cumin? In daiquiri quite nice but not as good as the Finedrams 🤷🏼♂️
