The Story Behind the Bottle
It started with a single sip. July 2024, Restaurant Blanc, Paris. Savanna poured an early cask sample. I took a sip and went quiet.
17 years in the tropics. Rich. Complex. Perfectly balanced. The kind of rum that just stops you. I couldn't let it go.
Months of going back to the Savanna team. Asking. Pushing. Probably being a pain. But it wasn't just me — the RumX Savanna Masterclass, where many of you tasted the sample, showed Savanna something they hadn't expected.
They saw a community that doesn't just drink rum — it understands rum. And they decided this cask belongs in your hands. This bottle exists because the community willed it into being.
Every review. Every note. Every friend you brought to RumX. It all led to this. Savanna didn't give us this cask because we paid the most. They gave it to us because they saw something real.

This is a great Savanna and I really look forward to the release in 2026. The balance is great and the wood and ABV is very well integrated. Fruits and mint go well in hand with the floral and spice notes.

A rather dark and woody profile, but very expressive and above all well-balanced with a lovely freshness. A very fine release, bravo!
A grandiose rum that never stops surprising me, one you can enjoy again and again. No flaws, no alcohol burn, just pure raw pleasure.
It's always hard to put 100, so I'll put less, just to say. But in the end, this is the kind of Savanna I love: fruity, woody. Very balanced. It's a real treat and my best test at WL 2025.

We partnered with Xandro, one of Europe's most distinctive graffiti artists, to bring our shared mark to life. His style — bold, layered, unapologetically vibrant — mirrors what's inside the bottle: 17 years of complexity, waiting to explode.
— Xandro, @xandro.arteFor this label, I blended words related to rum, distillation, and Reunion Island using various lettering styles. They all come together to form an X, a nod to RumX and my own artistic signature. The contrast between the black background and the orange typography creates a luminous, intense feel. I am proud to have worked on this exceptional bottle, which perfectly reflects the collaboration between Savanna and RumX.
