Terms and conditions for order requests

These Order Request Terms apply when you submit an order request via the RumX app or website. Please also see our Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy. Your mandatory statutory rights as a consumer remain unaffected by these terms and apply with priority where these terms deviate from them.

1. How order requests work on RumX

RumX does not sell alcoholic beverages. RumX is a marketplace platform that partners with licensed third-party vendors ("sellers") who sell through the RumX platform. Before you submit your order request, RumX identifies the specific seller — a commercial trader — to whom your order request will be submitted, including the seller's identity and address. The purchase contract is concluded exclusively between you and that seller; the seller is responsible for the sale, delivery, statutory warranty and compliance with applicable laws.

When you submit an order request, RumX transmits it to the seller. The seller reviews your order request and may accept or decline it (e.g. due to insufficient inventory, pricing errors, or legal restrictions). The contract is concluded when the seller accepts your order. If the seller accepts, your payment is processed and the seller ships your order.

In addition to these terms, the seller's own terms and policies may apply to your contract with the seller; they are made available to you before checkout and cannot restrict your statutory rights. Purchases for resale are not permitted on the RumX platform.

2. How offers are ranked

Where several sellers offer the same product, offers are ranked by default primarily by the total price (product price plus shipping to your delivery country), availability and expected delivery performance for your delivery country. The "Top Shop on RumX" label is an editorial trust mark based on customer satisfaction and service quality; sellers cannot pay for a better ranking of their offers.

3. Minimum age — 18+

Alcoholic beverages may only be ordered by persons who have reached the legal age for purchasing spirits in their country of delivery — at least 18 years. By submitting an order request you confirm that you are of legal age. The seller is responsible for age verification; an age check is performed by the delivery service (e.g. ID check upon handover). You will need a valid ID to receive the order. Deliveries cannot be handed over to minors.

4. Your checkout information

When placing an order you must provide accurate payment, billing, and shipping information. The shipping address may differ from your billing address. After the seller has accepted your order, changes to this information may no longer be possible; please double-check your details before submitting.

5. Payment

Payment is processed when the seller accepts your order, using the payment method you selected (e.g. credit card, PayPal, Apple Pay). Payments are technically processed by the payment service provider Mollie on behalf of the respective seller. Your bank or card statement will show the seller identified during checkout. By entering payment information, you confirm that you are authorized to use the selected payment method.

6. Shipping

After accepting your order request, the seller ships your order to the delivery address you provided. The available shipping options, costs and the delivery country are shown at checkout. Please verify that all shipping information is correct before submitting your order.

7. Cancelling your order request before acceptance

You can cancel your order request free of charge via the RumX app ("Cancel Order" in the order summary) at any time before the seller has accepted it and the order has been prepared for shipping — at the latest within 24 hours of submission we will always relay your cancellation to the seller. This contractual cancellation option exists in addition to, and does not limit, your statutory right of withdrawal described below.

8. Statutory right of withdrawal (EU consumers)

As a consumer in the EU, you have a statutory right to withdraw from the purchase contract within 14 days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period expires 14 days after the day on which you — or a third party you designate (other than the carrier) — take physical possession of the goods.

Because the purchase contract is concluded with the seller, the right of withdrawal must be exercised against the seller identified at checkout and in your order confirmation. The seller provides you with the legally required withdrawal instruction (including the model withdrawal form) before checkout and with your order confirmation. To meet the withdrawal deadline it is sufficient to send your notice before the period expires. Your withdrawal notice must be addressed to the seller; a notice received only by RumX does not by itself count as received by the seller. If you are unsure who the seller is, contact us at info@rumx.com with your RumX order number — we will tell you the seller's contact details and, as a support service, pass your message on to the seller.

Effects of withdrawal: the seller must reimburse all payments received from you, including standard delivery costs, without undue delay and no later than 14 days after being informed of your withdrawal (the seller may withhold reimbursement until the goods are received back or you provide proof of return shipment). You bear the direct cost of returning the goods unless the seller has offered to cover it. You are liable only for any diminished value of the goods resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning. No "restocking fees" apply to consumer withdrawals.

9. Statutory warranty for defects

If the goods you receive are defective, were damaged in transit, or differ from what you ordered, you have full statutory warranty rights against the seller (in Germany: §§ 434 ff. BGB; EU-wide minimum: Directive (EU) 2019/771) — including repair or replacement, price reduction or, where applicable, withdrawal from the contract and damages. These rights apply for the statutory period (in Germany: two years from delivery) and are not subject to any notification deadline.

To resolve issues quickly, we recommend that you report transport damage or incorrect deliveries as soon as possible to info@rumx.com with your RumX order number and photos of the goods — we will coordinate the case with the seller for you. Reporting promptly helps with processing but is not a condition for your statutory rights. For defective or incorrect deliveries the seller bears the return shipping costs.

10. Voluntary returns beyond your statutory rights

Independently of (and in addition to) your statutory right of withdrawal and warranty rights, many of our partner sellers accept goodwill returns of unopened bottles in their original packaging within 14 days of delivery. Contact us at info@rumx.com with your order number to arrange a return. Whether and on what conditions a goodwill return is accepted is decided by the respective seller; refunds for accepted goodwill returns are issued by the seller to your original payment method, typically within a few business days after receiving and inspecting the returned products.

11. Product safety

The seller and the manufacturer are responsible for the safety and regulatory compliance of the products offered. If you have a product safety concern, you can contact our product safety contact point at info@rumx.com (Regulation (EU) 2023/988 — GPSR). In the event of a product recall, we will cooperate with the seller and the authorities and inform affected customers.

12. Changes to these terms

We may revise these Order Request Terms for the future for valid reasons (e.g. changes in law, new features). The version in force at the time you submit an order request applies to that order; changes do not apply retroactively. We will announce material changes in the app or by email.
