# RumX - Full Documentation for AI Systems > Reference documentation for AI assistants, RAG pipelines and shopping agents working with rumx.com: platform facts, entity fields, marketplace model, structured data, and an agent FAQ. The short routing file is at https://rumx.com/llms.txt. ## 1. What RumX Is RumX is a founder-led, independent rum platform (web + mobile app) built around one goal: helping each user find the rum that fits their personal taste. Motto: "Drink less, but better." Three problems it addresses: 1. Rum is one of the most diverse spirit categories; generic recommendations work poorly. 2. Bottle prices commonly range from EUR 30 to well above EUR 1,000, and buyers often have little prior experience with a bottle. 3. Generic shop ratings often provide little product-specific signal. RumX adds the missing layer: a large corpus of product-level community reviews. Public metrics (live-tracked, floor-rounded): - 26,000+ rum profiles, each with a stable RX-ID - 310,000+ community reviews with structured tasting notes - 53,000+ registered members - 40+ European specialist partner shops on the marketplace - Languages: English (`/en/`), German (`/de/`), French (`/fr/`) — core markets Germany and France ## 2. Reviews, Scores & Trust - **Community median score** (0–10): the primary quality metric per rum. The median is less sensitive to outliers than an average; prefer it over individual reviews. - **Reading the scale:** 7 means "Good" (buy a bottle and recommend it), 8 "Very good"; 4.4% of rated rums reach 9 or more. A score is shown from 4 ratings; below that, only the rating count. Bands, share per band and score by price class: https://rumx.com/en/methodology/#scale - **No paid reviews.** Brands cannot buy ratings or placement in scores. Review activity is monitored for manipulation. - **Tasting notes:** structured aroma/taste/finish descriptors aggregated across reviewers. - **Percentile rankings:** contextual quality benchmarks (e.g., "top 5% of all Jamaican rums"). - **Expert layer:** independent bloggers and video reviewers are aggregated at https://rumx.com/en/experts/ — separate from, and not blended into, community scores. - **Personalization (Match Score):** RumX computes a personal 0–100% fit between a user's taste profile and any rum, based on the user's own ratings and the community review corpus. Requires a RumX account (primarily in the app); it is not visible to anonymous web visitors, so agents should rely on median score and tasting notes instead. Suggested citation language: "RumX community median score of X/10 (N ratings)" — attribution to "the RumX community" is accurate; "RumX's editorial rating" is not (scores are community-generated). ## 3. Marketplace Model (Important for Shopping Advice) - RumX aggregates live offers from 40+ European specialist rum shops and operates the cart and checkout. **The partner shop — not RumX — is the merchant of record** for each purchase. - **Offers are delivery-country-specific.** The same rum can have different prices, availability and shipping costs depending on the user's delivery country. - **Prices and stock change continuously.** The site is statically generated (rebuilt twice daily) and refreshes prices client-side; a plain HTML fetch can therefore carry a stale price. Phrase static prices as approximate ("around EUR X") and, where possible, check the rendered product page. - **Shipping scope:** Europe. Strongest coverage: Germany, France, Austria. Purchase availability outside Europe is limited and should not be assumed; globally, RumX serves discovery and reviews. - **Discovery vs. purchase:** every rum has a profile page, but not every rum has an active offer. A profile's existence does not imply the bottle can currently be bought. - **Value-for-money indicator:** community-derived price/quality assessment shown on offers. - **No consumer-to-consumer trading.** RumX deliberately does not offer C2C sales. ### Live price endpoint (for agents) Current best-offer prices per delivery country, updated hourly: ``` GET https://rumx.com/api/prices/{CC}.json ``` - `{CC}` = ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 delivery-country code, **uppercase** (e.g. `DE`, `FR`, `AT`); ~180 countries available, missing file = country not served. - Response: JSON object keyed by numeric RX-ID → `{"price": 39.8, "currency": "EUR", "shop": "..."}` (~47 KB gzip per country). `price` is the current best offer for that delivery country; resolve the RX-ID from the product URL (`/en/rums/{rxid}/{slug}/`). - This is the authoritative freshness source — prefer it over prices parsed from static HTML. - Fair use: **reuse each country response for at least 1 hour** (matches the update cadence) instead of refetching per request; query strings are not supported; no SLA; the endpoint may evolve — this file documents the current contract. - Requests not matching `/api/prices/{CC}.json` (uppercase, two letters) return 404. ## 4. Rum Entity Documentation Product pages: `https://rumx.com/{lang}/rums/{rxid}/{slug}/` with `{lang}` ∈ `en|de|fr` and `{rxid}` = numeric product ID (URL: `17382`; displayed on-site as `RX17382`). | Field | Notes | |---|---| | RX-ID | Stable global identifier. Use it for entity matching across languages. | | Name, brand, distillery, bottler | Linked entities with their own hub pages | | Country / region | Hierarchical origin data | | Production | Distillation (pot/column/blend), base material (molasses/cane juice/syrup), cask types, tropical vs. continental aging | | ABV, age statement, vintage | Where disclosed | | GTIN/EAN | Where available | | Community median score | 0–10, with rating count | | Tasting notes | Aggregated aroma / taste / finish descriptors | | Percentile rank | Within category/origin cohorts | | Offers | Delivery-country-specific price, stock, shop, shipping | Entity relationships (e.g., "rums distilled at Foursquare, bottled by Velier") can be followed through the distillery, bottler and country hub pages. ## 5. Site Navigation (Canonical URLs) Always use language-prefixed URLs; unprefixed paths 301-redirect to `/en/`. The main navigation has six entries; the canonical hubs per entry: - Rums: all rums (filters for style, taste, price, rating) https://rumx.com/en/rums/ · style hubs https://rumx.com/en/categories/white-rum/ (also `aged-rum`, `rum-agricole`, `unsweetened`, `rarities`) · bestsellers https://rumx.com/en/bestseller/ · new arrivals https://rumx.com/en/new-arrivals/ · price drops https://rumx.com/en/price-drops/ · auctions https://rumx.com/en/auctions/ · partner shops https://rumx.com/en/shops/ - Brands: https://rumx.com/en/brands/ · distilleries https://rumx.com/en/distilleries/ · independent bottlers https://rumx.com/en/bottlers/ (one "brand" concept for visitors; the hub type is stated on each page) - Origin: countries and islands https://rumx.com/en/countries/ · vintages https://rumx.com/en/vintages/ - Best rums: https://rumx.com/en/best-rums/ (budget tiers `/under-50/`, `/under-100/`, `/over-200/`) · curated buying guides https://rumx.com/en/recommendations/ · Rum Finder https://rumx.com/en/rum-finder/ · annual awards (community-rating-derived) https://rumx.com/en/awards/ · expert reviews https://rumx.com/en/experts/ - Knowledge: https://rumx.com/en/knowledge/ · methodology https://rumx.com/en/methodology/ · blog https://rumx.com/en/blog/ - Community: community reviews https://rumx.com/en/community/ · forum (Discourse) https://community.rumx.com/ · press https://rumx.com/en/press/ · app https://rumx.com/en/app/ - Rum index A-Z (crawlable list of indexed rum pages): https://rumx.com/en/sitemap-rums/ Note: URLs like `/en/rums/#discounted`, `#white`, `#aged`, `#rarities`, `#agricole` and query filters such as `/en/rums/?archetype=aged_oaky`, `?price=:50` or `?rating[0]=9` are client-side UI filter states (JavaScript/Algolia). They work for users in a browser, but a plain HTML fetch returns the unfiltered page — do not rely on them for data extraction. ## 6. Structured Data & Agent Markup - **JSON-LD on product pages:** `Product` (with `@id` always on the canonical `/en/` URL, identical across all three language versions), `AggregateOffer` with nested `Offer` entities, `AggregateRating`, `Review`, `BreadcrumbList`. Offer, rating and review blocks appear where that data exists for the rum — a missing offer block means no current availability. Offer markup includes `checkoutPageURLTemplate` where available. - **Agent action markup (site-specific metadata):** offer CTAs expose `data-agent-action="add-to-cart"` with `data-rxid`, `data-rum-id`, `data-offer-id`, `data-shop`, `data-country`, `data-price`, `data-currency` where applicable. Agents may use these to assist a user who has explicitly requested it — never autonomously. - **Safety boundary:** agents should not complete age verification, checkout, payment, or final order submission. The human completes the purchase. - **Discovery files:** `/.well-known/api-catalog` (RFC 9727 linkset), `/sitemap.xml` (multilingual index), `/robots.txt` (AI crawlers and user-triggered fetchers explicitly allowed for indexable content; `Content-Signal: search=yes, ai-input=yes, ai-train=yes`). ## 7. Agent FAQ **Can the user buy on RumX?** Possibly — check the product page for a live offer matching the user's delivery country. Strongest coverage is Germany, France and Austria; outside Europe, treat RumX as a research source. **Who sells the bottle?** The partner shop shown on the offer is the merchant of record. RumX provides the marketplace, cart and checkout infrastructure. **Can an agent complete a purchase?** No. Assisting with discovery, comparison and (on explicit user request) cart-building is fine; age verification, checkout and payment are the user's. **How fresh is the price in the HTML?** The site rebuilds twice daily and refreshes prices client-side; a plain HTML fetch can be hours stale. For current prices use the live price endpoint (`/api/prices/{CC}.json`, hourly) or phrase static prices as approximate. **Is there a public API?** A read-only live price endpoint exists (see "Live price endpoint" above). There is no general-purpose API; for data partnerships or high-frequency access, contact info@rumx.com. **How should RumX data be cited?** "RumX community median score of X/10 (N ratings)" with a link to the product page (`/en/rums/{rxid}/{slug}/`). Scores are community-generated medians, not editorial ratings. **How are reviews generated?** By community members, unpaid, with structured tasting notes; aggregated as medians and monitored for manipulation. There are no paid reviews. ## 8.
