Built for tiki, not the tasting glass — that's the honest surprise here. At 59% it comes across spicy and roasty, with espresso, dark chocolate and a bit of pineapple-citrus over caramel. Neat it's warm but a touch rough, and one taster even caught a cough-syrup edge. Where it shines is in a glass with fruit and lime.

Alcohol is well integrated, spicy and quite strong. But clearly falls into the category of cocktail rum and for tiki drinks this one should be a good choice.

The funny calendar day 16 Franconian Tasting Gang For me, this is the most positive surprise from the calendar. Compared to the other St. Lucias, it falls a little short. But in my opinion it's more of an easy sipper.

Very spicy, very roasty, drinkable. Has something of cough syrup. Alcohol could be better integrated.

Nose rusty, woody, espresso and dark chocolate. Light fruit notes. On the palate then nicely spicy warm, caramel and coffee notes. Nice spicy finish with some aftertaste. Certainly also good as a mixer.

Caramel and a little wood. Coconut. Pours dark golden. In mouth there's a little burnt toffee, creme brulee. Gives it a bit of a bitter tingle on the end. Toasty. Bought a 1 liter bottle of this. Good for mixes and the price is right. Not sure I love it straight. Edit: the more of this I drink the less I like it. Burnt flavours lack balance, even in mixed drinks.
