If you expect a classic NY profile with lots of fruit esters, you'll be surprised - there's far less fruit bomb here than extremely tasty salted caramel candy. A decidedly elegant potpourri of caramel sweetness, fine minerality, vanilla, oak and subtle cocoa bitterness. In addition, tropical fruit notes, which at no time play in the foreground, but deliver an extremely entertaining play of flavors in addition to the aforementioned protagonists. Great release and a highlight among the 1994 New Yarmouths.

Very intense yet inviting aromatics. Classic NY94 profile on the palate. Reminders of salted caramel. Pleasant spiciness on the finish. Great rum!

This is an excellent New Yarmouth.... Very balanced, harmonious and elegant! These salty caramel notes with the subtle spices, cocoa and barrel aromas literally pamper the palate. Oily distribution. Alcohol is well integrated. Fruit aromas are very easily perceptible

My score is Nose 91, Taste 92and the Aftertaste 92. So the overall score is 92 points. Well balanced, no off notes, no bitterness, a nice sweetness and long aftertaste. Very good complexity and body and integrated alcohol.

Cracked open 3 more of my present and starting with this one made me happy. A very nice NY. Light fruit mixed well with wood and spices and very light leather. I love the warm and oily palate. Leave to rest for a good while to release all flavours and remove the bite from the ABV.

The 1994 New Yarmouths are clearly among the finest rums, and this one is no exception. It's an experience in itself. The nose is splendid, coated with coconut, chocolate/cocoa, pastry and caramel notes, sweet spices, gourmand empyreumatic notes (toasted almond) and exotic fruits. The wood, slightly tinged with leather, is very well integrated into the whole, as complex as it is gourmand, as intense as it is elegant. The attack on the palate is both aromatic and extremely powerful. Spicy/peppery, woody and roasted flavors explode in the mouth, giving the palate extreme warmth. This is followed by tangy citrus notes (orange, lemon), pineapple and dried fruit, which, along with chocolate and caramel, round out the bestial profile. It's both incredibly round and complex, with a real balance of flavors despite the 67.1%, present but very well blended. The finish, of the infinite order, surprises with a hint of saltiness and caramelized sweetness. Woody, spicy and empyreumatic notes lead the festivities, but scents of dark chocolate, mocha, raisin and coconut add a not inconsiderable dose of gourmandise. A most extravagant rum, absolutely sensational from start to finish. Only the price is a flaw.

Solid midfield of the NY94 comparison tasting. High quality at high prices.

Krasne sladky, smetanovy, jako karamela. Skvela volba pro rumare, kteri chteji prejit od sladkych sirupu na cisty destilat. New Yarmouth 1994 jen malokdy zklame. Toto je skvela volba, ke ktere se vzdy rad vratite..

Really intense on the palate with a fine sweetness and lots of spices and dried fruit, some leather. Picks me up right from the first sip. In direct comparison, I even like it a little better than the RA.

Once again an outstanding representative of the NY94!

Excellent 94NY with lots of caramel and toffee with wood and spice. But in a direct comparison with the Swell Flashback (rx12161), it loses out for me.

Finally in my glass - telling from the label I think I should thank zabo for the split. And here we go: The nose starts off as a 94NY should. Loafs of caramel, sugar and different spices (cinnamon, pepper, hints of chest nut). In addition there is some eucalyptus (it comes and goes), warm wood, chocolate, cocoa and some raisins. Really warm, complex and balanced. Initially I found it to be a bit too strong and sharp and therefore watered it down to around 50%. On the palate you have basically everything from the nose with some extras. The caramel is now a full grown crème brûlée, the spices are a bit less present and it is sweet and warm. The finish is mostly caramel, wood, vanilla, the crème brûlée again and some coconut with orange peel. Too bad it was only a sample :)

An absolutely great New Yarmouth rum. Very intense and complex in smell. Lots of spices and fruit, which can also be found in the taste. It also has a pleasantly light sweetness. The alcohol content is very high at 67%, which you can also taste.
