A very good surprise that this young Hampden is full-bodied and exuberant. The power of the DOK mark is noticeable with a very fruity, phenolic and floral nose, with fermented, medicinal notes and a hint of camphor. This heavy, intense profile comes through on the palate, with some spicy notes adding depth to the rum. It's bold, oily and very indulgent. The same flavors return on a long and lingering finish. A very nice bottling that shows a lot of complexity and has a lot going for it for its young age.

Very nice addition to the Habitation Velier series. With a little time to breathe, you get a really good Hampden here with, as expected, powerful fruit esters, some barrel influence, spices and pleasant sweetness. Very good.

Nose is good but in the taste I have a very strange and strong taste of spices that I don't like.

Despite the relative young age this is a spot on fresh and intense release, wow. When looking at the price tag at release you get a lot of vang for your buck. An intense and fruity rum with a fresh and floral profile. ABV really well integrated and overall just and enjoyable rum.

Nose... Fruity, acidity ... Ester (no Ester monster as often in DOK but something tamer ) the Tropical storage takes him something the bite makes him but for me more interesting and also rounder ... On the palate initially a great fruity sweetness, alcohol very well integrated ... Ester rather restrained but still clear. For me very exciting and tasty !!!

Incredible ester combined with young wood, lots of vinegar and acid and tropical fermented fruit. I like DOK but here the short barrel aging brings very unpleasant vinegar notes that I do not like at all....

Habitation Velier and Hampden are usually convincing. Also in this case. A very tasty DOK with the typical funky high ester aromas of a Hampden. Very fresh, funky, fermented tropical fruit... this rum lacks a little complexity. If you want a DOK, you'll get a DOK here.

Very good DOK, which has become somewhat tamer due to tropical storage. But it has everything a good Hampden needs!

Edit: after a long time I had it again today with DomM spontaneously in the glass, very cool. Corrected upwards. A very nice DOK, I'm thrilled. Shortly before the finish I taste hazelnut again, I have an association with Nutella bread, only the sweetness is missing. All in all, a very good piece. A super DOK and a great bottling, which I was lucky enough to get hold of again cheaply at the time

Rarely have I looked forward to tasting a bottling so much. The DOK profile we know primarily from the 2009 continental matured. Finally, Habitation Velier has released a tropically matured DOK. Five years of tropical aging and bottled at 60.5%. The DOK DNA is unmistakable and quite similar to the profile we know and many love. It is not quite as brute as the continental DOK and for me, a touch more complex. I must confess that my expectations were exceeded. Now of course follows the test in May Tai.

Blind DOK Tasting - 1st place. Winner Winner Glue Dinner 🫨🤤 The best Hampden DOK in my opinion. Very wild, rough, delicious, komplex from start to the finish. The tropical aging has clearly a good impact on this one.

I could never bring myself to buy a continental matured DOK - the bottle is never empty anyway. At the HV I have then but spontaneously struck. Just smelling it makes my mouth water - literally in streams. The rum comes with the classic High Ester Hampden profile: grilled, overripe pineapple, solvents going into the cleaning gasoline. All incredibly well integrated, into a surprising ripeness that continental DOKs don't achieve after 10+ years. In the mouth, the same picture and just extremely delicious! The grilled pineapple is joined by smoky curry leaves. The robust acidity is perfectly captured by the wood. The alcohol integration is very good. The finish is intense and long. It doesn't bring out a new facet, but no one asked for that either. As ordered, the DOK is very intense and surprisingly round. It is not particularly multi-faceted, but that is not to be expected with age and mark.Whether this bottle will be empty? Time will tell. My blind purchase I do not regret in any case.

I'm not sure I'd have bet on a blind DOK mark with this bottle. This is a fruity, acidic Hampden, with the usual esters, but they don't carry the day. You can tell this rum is rather young. A little too lively for my palate, but a very pretty bottle. Aeration gives it a superb profile.

Very tasty DOK. So far I knew only continental aged DOKs. This one is a little less intrusive, but more complex than those tasted so far.
