Wow ! Einfach nur Krass - Seit dem Swell the Spirits Yarmouth bin ich stark auf diese Destillerie fixiert. Anfangs hatte ich nach dem Feedback hier schon Angst, dass er mir nicht schmecken würde und evtl hätte ihm ein anderes Fassfinish besser getan, allerdings finde ich, dass der Sherryeinfluss den Rum nur ein wenig verschließt, was man mit ein paar Tropfen Wasser wieder rückgängog machen kann. Ansonsten ist dieser Rum hier für mich eine extrem weiche und runde Aromenbombe ohne gleichen - dunkle rote Früchte, Tabak, Leder, Propolis, ein worklich sehr langer Abgang - mit diesem Rum hoer kann man wirklich viel spaß haben.

Löste beim Probieren auf der Whiskymesse einen sofortigen Kaufreflex aus. Wunderschön tropisch gereifte Noten mit vollen Aromen und einem ausgeprägten Mundgefühl. Die gut 67% spürt man nicht! Laaang im Abgang. Wahnsinnig gut (trinkbar) und der große gereiftere Bruder vom Flensburg 94er.

Braucht der 94er NY ein Finish ? Sicherlich nicht. Passt es trotzdem ? Auf jeden Fall. Das Sherry Finish bringt noch mal ne leichte, fruchtige Note rein ohne das 94er Profil zu überdecken. Harmoniert beides sehr gut zusammen.

I like this 1994 NYE expression a lot. Sherry cask works very well with this rum and the alcohol is extremely well incorporated. Not your typical Jamaican and in this case I’m totally fine with it. Already looking forward to the moment that I pour the rest of the sample.

An der Nase der schwächste Rum der heute im Cross-Tasting verkosteten NY 1994. Aber am Gaumen spielt der Rum (vermutlich aufgrund des Sherry Finishes) seine Stärke, sprich Rundheit und angenehme Muffigkeit, aus. Wirklich gelungene Abfüllung mit epischem Design (auch wenn das nicht in meine Bewertung einfließt).

Ziemlich zugänglich und fast schon süffig durch das Sherry-Finish mit Parallelen zu einigen FS-Abfüllungen. Alkohol gut eingebunden. Ist den Aficionados Abfüllungen sehr ähnlich. Da muss nochmal ein direkter Vergleich her.

Toller 94er New Yarmouth. Das Sherryfinish überlagert in keinster Weise sondern rundet das Profil sehr schön ab. Darüber hinaus hält es die leicht vorherrschende Bitterkeit im Zaum. Der Alkohol ist mit über 67% perfekt eingebunden. Die Zugabe von Wasser kann obligatorisch erfolgen, es verändert das Profil nicht, sondern mildert lediglich die acetonische Schärfe.

Tohle je skutecne muj salek kavy:) pri cene 100€ je to skvost, ktery se vyplati mit v zasobe. Je to typicky TDL v chuti i ve vuni. Je tam krasny naznak maty a cerne cokolady ve vuni a v chuti je citit prijemne stari. Nikdy bych nehadal, ze to ma vic jak 60%

RX10204 11. RX12556 12. RX12841 13. RX9617 14. RX1563 15. RX16027 16. RX12161 17. RX13824 18. RX6983 Have to try it again, but it just picked me up, will report back. I'm just flashed. Very good... I tried it again and added a few drops of water after a while. It develops again and becomes even rounder than it already is. Edit: Now that I've tested five New Yarmouth bottlings against each other and it "only" took 3rd place, I'm adjusting it downwards by 0.1 points.

Ein kleines Cross-Tasting mit den beiden Fine Drams und dem FRC Village. Alle drei benötigen zunächst viel Zeit im Glas, bis sie sich öffnen. Alle drei sind sehr gute 94er NY, stoßen aber nicht in die Spitze hinein. Benchmark bleibt für mich hier der RA! Der Fine Dram mit 68,5% ist hier der Gewinner. Trotz des hohen Alkoholgehaltes kommt er sehr angenehm cremig daher. Die Nase ist recht verhalten, aber am Gaumen zeigt er sein Potenzial, da dominiert er (auch wenn das Fass deutlich spürbar ist). Für mich am heutigen Abend der stimmigste NY. Als zweites folgt der FRC. Die Süße des Sheery-Finishs ist deutlich wahrnehmbar, aber passt noch so eben. Der Dritte ist der Fine Dram mit 68%. Er ist sehr brachial und nicht ganz so ausgewogen. Zusammengefasst sind es durchwegs sehr gute Abfüllungen

Was. Eine. Rakete. Bebender Funk und richtig Bums auf der Zunge! Ein Invest. Aber der Spaß, den man auf der Zunge und am Gaumen hat ist es allemal wert. Das Sherry Finish merkt man ihm kaum an, scheint das Profil also eher zu unterstützen. Phantastisch!

Mein erster 94er New Yarmouth. Ich verstehe den Hype darum definitiv. Schön fruchtige Nase, hier natürlich vom Sherry Finish verstärkt. Im Mund funktioniert das Zusammenspiel zwischen Sherry und dem Rum überraschend gut.

Sehr guter Rum, der meinen Geschmack voll trifft. Gut eingebundener Alkohol, der beim genießen nicht störend ist. Fruchtig, durch den Sherryeinfluss, aber nicht im Vordergrund steht. Eine, meiner Meinung nach, gelungene Abfüllung! Schade, dass ich hier nur ein Sample ergattern konnte (die sind immer so schnell weg)
