Foursquare ECS XXXI Epilogue 2026

Caramelized sugar and butter off the nose — "like a bakery," one taster says — with tobacco, milk chocolate and dry oak underneath. This is the last and oldest of the ECS line at 19 years, full ex-bourbon, no fancy finish, and members who love that classic dry Foursquare style rate it accordingly. At 57% it runs hot and can singe the nose. A couple find the palate a touch soft and wish the finish ran longer.

Wow, the last of the ECS. The oldest Foursquare in the series at 19 years. Bourbon-only. The nose is perfect, very round and balanced: vanilla, caramel, fruit, roasted notes, wood, milk chocolate. Tastes delicious, smooth and somewhat... weak?! The finish could be longer, but it's also tasty here with vanilla, caramel, chocolate.

This is basically the last ECS Foursquare. Well then. A solid representative of its origin, no big surprise really. The value for money is pretty good, it brings a lot of body and quality, I won’t go into the typical FS notes. Good stuff, the price is fair and not inflated – but it’s labeled ECS and not Velier – otherwise a 2 would be the leading digit on the price tag.

This latest release is superb Foursquare delights us again Beautiful notes of fruit, vanilla, caramel, spices, a nice woodiness, it’s very smooth and with a lovely long finish I don’t know what they’ll do next, but in any case this last pour is top ❤️❤️❤️

Very solid, classic Bourbon Foursquare. If you like the Pleni, you'll also experience a very good Foursquare here.

So this is the last of the ECS bottlings. On the nose pretty soft and quite familiar. On the palate also the familiar profile, but very mature. For my taste a bit nuttier than younger bottlings. Despite the age, fewer tannins than the Covenant, which I like. Compared to other pure bourbon barrel maturations like the Nobiliary, a bit more refined and settled. All in all, a worthy, high-quality conclusion to the ECS series, which I like better than some bottlings with a fancy finish in a special cask. In my opinion, pure bourbon barrel aging still suits Foursquare best, and this bottling very well too. For me, definitely one of the better recent Foursquare bottlings.

Foursquare flight this evening, thanks to Lada for the samples! The last of the ECS, Foursquare is not particularly known for surprising their fan base, but this one is very Foursquare-ish, no tricks or twists. There's caramel, wood, spices, and some coconut. It's quite intense, maybe even a bit hot. Compared to that, I think I preferred the Covenant, which is one year younger than this one.

#1825 14-08-2026 - Rate 8.7 Once again Foursquare and Richard sends out a fantastic rum. This one is 19 years and full bourbon cask. I really like the way Foursquare experiment with different cask finished. You know what you get with Foursquare, but then again they have different profiles. And they get older with evety year. I fell for Foursquare 10 years ago when they put put 8-10 year rums. Now they are around 20 years. Can’t wait till we get 30 year tropical aged Foursquare

Really beautiful orange-golden color, bright, clear, appetizing. On the nose, what you expect from a Foursquare. Caramel, butterscotch, honey. But also some fruity notes and certain fresh top notes that I find hard to place. Added to that are woody (oak) aroma components. On the palate, the spicy and caramel parts dominate. Also a certain freshness here. Citrus notes? The rum has a long finish on the palate flavors and a slight acidity impression right at the end. Undoubtedly well made, but not my favorite from the ECS series.
