South Pacific Plantation Isle of Fiji
Poured neat on a warm day or dropped into a cola, this Fiji leans soft and sweet. You get ripe banana, tropical fruit, a whiff of glue and solvent that hints at the island's ester side, then vanilla and honey smooth it over. Several tasters call it a fine entry to Fiji, though the added sweetness flattens the funk and the finish drops off fast.

Aggregated from 405 community reviews.
Sweet, banana-forward entry into Fiji rum Well-liked as an easy, fruity intro to Fiji rum, but the sweetness divides people — fans of the style say it buries the funk and the finish is short.

Sauber den Zucker eingestellt. So das er nicht zu dominant ist. 16g passen echt gut. Interessante Töne von Banane mit Blüten mit angenehmer vanille. Das Preis Leistungsverhältnis ist sehr gut. Gefällt mir sehr gut

Alkoholisch, etwas flach, wenig Dimensionen. Etwas fruchtig und leicht. Plantation 20XO besser.

Overall is the nose unpleasant, palate better than expected and too short finish. The nose is fruity, spicy and smoky with additional smells of glue, alcohol and vanilla. At the palate it tastes like the nose indicated except for alcohol and glue, instead it’s very sweet.

There is something about this rum that swings it off but I can't put my finger on it. The nose promisses a lot that the palate can't finish. Still wondering what tipped this one......

Mmh… Very thin, diluted, sweet daily sipper. Paired with some nice notes of various fruits. It‘s a good one, for beginners especially, otherwise it‘s more like a daily driver at a very good price level.

8:On the nose it is quite punchy and vanilla. Lots and lots of dark treacly molasses notes jump straight out at you, a bit of caramel then. There is a sweeter, more perfumed note but it’s little fierce as well, varnish. After a little time in the glass some fruitier notes arise, fermented, overripe notes, even rotten, canned with passion fruit, banana, ripe pears, plum and some currants. There is a smokiness as well. The nose is really impressive and balanced. 7,8:On the palate the rum is not as powerful as the nose suggested, but is well round. The fruitier notes are not that strong, not overripe, banana is fresh. It has a sweetener note, it is spicy with some baking spices. On the mid palate, we get some punchy and roasted notes of burnt banana, ginger and a honey, minimal bitterness present. 7,3:The finish is medium. It fades quite quickly, is fruity, spice, some overripe notes, a bit dry and acidic, that sweetener note stays. Edit:28.9.25.

Flavors of vanilla, honey, plums and coconuts. Aftertaste of dried bananas and bourbon spices.

A Fiji rum from Plantation that follows the typical profile of this island, with fruity esters in the foreground. However, the cognac cask also makes it quite mild and vanilla-like. Also slightly sweetened, of course.

Vanilla, fruits, toasted coconut. Sweet fruits on the front and dry spices with nutty vanilla on the finish. Big flavors. Excellent rum.
Review by Skyfly

Edit : took down my original rating a bit. From 73 to 70. Although i'm not the biggest lover of Jamaican rums, this one goes a tiny bit in the same direction but way less funky. Not bad at all. It's fruity and very easy to drink. Finish is a bit too short tho 🤷♂️

Beautiful nose, but in the mouth then dominates mainly the sweetness. Honey and vanilla give each other the hand especially in the finish then but rather tangy with medium-long finish. Drinkable for beginners or as a simple sipper, but more should not be expected

Very powerful scent and strong alcoholic taste. Cannot say that it is a good rum since the overpowering alcohol taste removes most of the pleasure from the rest of the flavours. If you do like the strong alcoholic taste, then by all means go for it - Myself, I prefer to have a sweet taste without a burn in my throat.

This is a mixed tropical and continental aged column still rum that I was pleasantly surprised by. Had I not looked it up I would've sworn this had at least some pot still in it, but I guess the Cognac casks just worked their magic. Tropical flavors for days, sweet and inviting, the kind of rum I'd put in front of just about anyone and they'd very likely enjoy it. It lacks the complexity to fly high but at 3 years aging and this price I'm not going to hold that against it. Would use in cocktails especially if I wanted a slightly sweet note to whatever I was making.

Read full review →I've already been down the Fijian rum route though, so this is probably a good start. Whether it's the dosage, Ferrand finish or just the age of the rums in the blend after such a promising nose, it fell just a little short. It's still quite good though and I...
