Introducing Live Auctions on RumX

In this blog post, we’ll introduce our new auction feature, and show you how to start bidding on rare rums right now. Let’s dive in!

TL;DR

• Everything on one platform: RumX now offers to purchase everyday rums (via our shop partners) and to find rare collectable rums (via auctions).
• Pilot Partner: RhumAuction.com has over 250 top-rated rums in their current auction, live until February 12, 2025.
• Quick & Easy: Open RumX, tap “Live Auctions,” add rums to your wishlist, and jump directly to the auction lot.

More Coming Soon: We’ll add more auction houses soon - and we appreciate your feedback to make RumX even better!

Why We Built This Feature

At RumX, our goal is to make it effortless for you to explore, discover, and buy the rums you love. After receiving lots of feedback in our big 2024 RumX survey, we learned two key things:

1. Our marketplace already has a great selection of standard rums and some interesting rarities.
2. However, the range is still too limited for serious collectors - online shops simply can’t match the variety of a full auction catalog.

So, we decided to expand our shop partners and integrate leading auction houses directly into RumX. This combines the best of both worlds: easy day-to-day purchases and secure auction access to cover the entire range of market offerings. Auction houses verify incoming bottles, offering an extra layer of security compared to buying from anonymous private sellers.

Key Advantages

• All Auctions in One Place: You can instantly see which auctions are live and easily match them with your wishlist.
• Browse with RumX’s Rich Information: Make the right buying decisions based on our range of detailed rum descriptions, community ratings, flavor profiles & market price trends.

No more jumping between platforms. Now, you can find and bid on exciting bottles - and have all the information you need, right at your fingertips.

We’re thrilled to introduce RhumAuction.com, part of the WhiskyAuction.com Group. They’ve been pioneers in whisky auctions since 1997 and now bring that expertise to rum. Their current January auction, live until February 12, 2025, features more than 250 top-rated rums.

To give you a taste of the outstanding rums in the current auction, we have picked out a few highlights for you:
